A grieving Utah husband has been left confused, betrayed and heartbroken as his next-door neighbors were identified as his wife’s murder suspects.
On October 7, Michael Hyde of Roosevelt reported his wife of 18 years missing.
60-year-old Kimberly Renee Hyde was found dead in her dark grey Honda Civic last week Tuesday, October 8, less than a mile away from the Vernal Regional Airport, after being missing for a day in the quiet Roosevelt community.
Her car was less than a mile away from the Vernal Regional Airport.
‘[It’s] hard now, being here all alone,’ Michael Hyde said.
‘It’s goodbye for now but not forever, and that helps keep me going.’
But this life-altering loss became even more difficult to grasp once it was revealed that the Culprits lived in the same community as Michael and Kimberly.
Police identified the suspects as Henry Resuera and a juvenile. According to Michael Hyde, the juvenile suspect is Resuera’s son, and the two were the Hydes’ next-door neighbors.

Kimberly husband Michael Hyde, still in shock after his wife was found dead, was jolted when the two people police identified as the primary suspects turned out to be their next-door neighbors

The juvenile suspect cannot be identified by the police because they are a minor, but Michael said he is Resuera’s son.
Resuera left the country before he could be identified as a suspect in the case. The juvenile has been taken into custody while authorities in Roosevelt are working with FBI to repatriate his father.
The father and son duo face charges of aggravated murder, aggravated kidnap, aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery.
Roosevelt has a population of just under 7,000 people, according to a 2022 count. Residents described their neighborhood as close knit and generally safe and uneventful.
Michael said he and Kimberly had a strong relationship with Resuera and his family, often going to church and having dinners together.
‘We had a good friendship, I thought, and it was really a shock.

The Roosevelt community is horrified by Kimberly’s murder, as the neighborhood is typically quiet and close-knit

‘I was disappointed to hear that one of his sons is also involved and in custody.’
While the juvenile suspect has been detained by police, Resuera fled the country to another continent, the Roosevelt City Police Department wrote in a statement.
Resuera is faced with first-degree felonies including aggravated murder, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery.
The community has been closely following this investigation, as concerned residents and those who knew Kimberly have flooded the police department’s Facebook page with hundred of comments.
‘May justice be served for Kim. May family and friends feel over love and prayers,’ one Roosevelt community member wrote.
Another said: ‘My heart breaks for this family. I can’t believe this has happened.’
An investigative team made up of the Roosevelt, Vernal, and Naples City Police Departments, as well as the Duchesne County and the Uintah County Sheriff’s Offices, is collaborating with the FBI and other agencies to find Resuera.
