Aesthetician, posing as nurse made $1 million from illegal cosmetic procedures with uncertified products

Fadanelli, 38, of Stoughton, Massachusetts, was charged Friday for illegally smuggling goods into the US, sale or dispensing a counterfeit drug and sale or dispensing of a counterfeit device

The aesthetician, who owns two spas in South Easton and Randolph,  presented herself as a nurse to her clients – she collected nearly $1 million for her ‘uncertified’ services

A client complained she never received the prescription for her injectible despite her request – Feds investigating Fadanelli’s business uncovered another active Homeland Security Investigations against her

Customs and Border Control seized international parcels shipped to Fadanelli, suspecting packages may contain illegal prescription drugs

She was also nabbed returning at Boston’s Logan Airport, from Brazil with illegal injectables

Searching the spas, feds uncovered the fake cosmetics, Fadanelli admitted to purchasing injectables from a Chinese supplier but didn’t know if they were FDA-approved

If convicted for the illegal importation of merchandise, she faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of $250,000

For knowingly selling/dispensing counterfeit drug/device she’s facing up to 10 years with another fine of $250,000

Alleged bogus nurse Rebecca Fadanelli, [photo], of Stoughton, MA, was charged Friday with illegally smuggling goods into the US, sale or dispensing a counterfeit drug and sale or dispensing of a counterfeit device. She is faces up to 30 years in prison and fines of $500,000

A Stoughton woman has been arrested and charged in connection with smuggling counterfeit drugs and devices into the country, then selling and dispensing same.
Rebecca Fadanelli, 38, was charged by criminal complaint with one count of illegally importing merchandise contrary to law, one count of selling or dispensing a counterfeit drug, and one count of selling or dispensing a counterfeit device. Fadanelli was arrested this morning and will appear in federal court in Worcester at 1 p.m. this afternoon.
According to the complaint, posing as a nurse, Fadanelli of Stoughton, Massachusetts, administered thousands of doses of phony Botox and other fillers that had been illegally smuggled into the US.
She was arrested on Friday for illegally smuggling goods into the US, sale or dispensing a counterfeit drug and sale or dispensing of a counterfeit device.
The glamorous aesthetician, who owns two spas in South Easton and Randolph,  presented herself as a nurse to her clients when she collected just under $1 million for her alleged illegal services.
Beginning in March 2021, Fadanelli ‘completed approximately 1,631 Botox appointments, totaling $522,869 in client payments, and 1,085 filler appointments, totaling $410,545 in client payments,’ federal prosecutors said. 

Fadanelli an aesthetician by training, owns and operates the Skin Beaute Med Spa with two branches in South Easton and Randolph, Massachusetts, but presented herself as nurse to her clients. The charging documents said she received nearly $1 million for her alleged illegal services

Fadanelli was not licensed or certified when she administered thousands of illegal counterfeit Botox, Sculptra, and Juvederm injections which she imported from China and Brazil, prosecutors allege.
The spa owner is also accused of purchasing vials of Botox, which typically cost of $650, for a much lower price of $50 from Alibaba – a Chinese-owned online marketplace.
The accusations came after one of Fadanelli’s clients tipped off investigators following an adverse reaction which included bumps in her lips and tingling after she received a lip filler injection from Fadanelli in 2022.

The Office of the United States Attorney in Massachusetts said Fadanelli was not licensed or certified when she administered thousands of illegal counterfeit Botox, Sculptra, and Juvederm injections which she imported from China and Brazil, to unsuspecting clients

The complainant, who remains anonymous, alleges she never received a copy of the prescription for the substance that was injected into her despite asking for it from the ‘nurse’.
Spurred to investigate Fadanelli’s business feds discovered an active Homeland Security Investigations of the same subject.
Parallel to these Customs and Border Control had seized international parcels shipped to the ‘nurse’, on suspicions that the packages may contain illegal prescription drugs. Furthermore, Fadanelli was caught at Boston’s Logan Airport, returning from Brazil with illegal injectables.
Investigators then searched the beautician’s spas where they uncovered the fake cosmetics.

Fadanelli passed as a ‘nurse’, getting rich from illegal cosmetic procedures until the complaint from a client following an adverse reaction after she received a lip filler injection from Fadanelli in 2022, sparked investigations by feds

Fadanelli later admitted to the Feds that she purchased the injectable drugs from the Chinese supplier. However, she does not know if they are FDA-approved. 
She did not enter a plea when she appeared in court on Friday.
She is facing up to 20 years in prison and a fine of $250,000 if convicted on the charge of importing merchandise illegally. Fadanelli also faces up to 10 years in prison and another fine of $250,000 on the charge of knowingly selling or dispensing a counterfeit drug or device.
