A man accused of shooting to death a coworker and wounding five others at an Ohio warehouse has spoken with police as they probe for a motive, authorities said Wednesday, hours after he was arrested in an apartment.
Bruce Reginald Foster III, 28, will be arraigned Thursday morning, New Albany Police Chief Greg Jones said during a late afternoon news conference.
Police in New Albany, Ohio launched a manhunt after a man killed one person and left five others are injured in a mass shooting at a manufacturing warehouse. Officers responded to an active shooter at KDC/One on the 8800 block of Smith Mill Road North just before 11pm late Tuesday night.
The KDC/One facility manufactures cosmetics for LBrands stores.
Police confirmed that one person was killed with a further five injured persons transported to local hospitals in the ‘targeted type of attack’.
About 150 employees inside the building at the time were evacuated to the safety of a nearby building.

Since the officers arriving at the New Albany industrial park business after 10 pm, just missed Foster as he took a ride share away from the scene, teams of police, aided by drones and a police dog, searched the facility.
“It does appear that there was contact between a victim and the shooter,” New Albany Police Chief Greg Jones said during a late afternoon news conference on Wednesday.
“At this point, I don’t have a clear picture of how involved that contact was.”

The site is just one of 24 manufacturers located in the New Albany Beauty Park and has produced over 1.5 billion units in over 3,000 different SKUs since its opening in 2012.
A 9 mm handgun which Foster legally purchased in September, was recovered at the shooting scene.
Just before 4 am Wednesday, New Albany PD obtained an address with a possible connection to Foster in Columbus’ Walnut Creek neighborhood. An Ohio State Highway Patrol helicopter also spotted a vehicle that matched a basic description that drove Foster away after the shooting.
U.S. Marshals used a stun gun to subdue Foster on Wednesday morning in Columbus. The suspect was not armed when he was arrested.
First responders managed to evacuate everyone from the factory, which Jones estimates was ‘at least 150 people’, and took them to a ‘neighboring building’.
Police say the deceased, whose identity is being withheld pending family notification, was pronounced dead at the scene. The five other victims were transported to a nearby hospital.
Foster who works at the KDC/One facility had been in the building for several hours before the shooting, which started around 10:20 pm on Tuesday night.
The motive has not been disclosed
