Police say a man intentionally set his car on fire with his spouse still inside. Home doorbell cameras captured the blast in a Hialeah Gardens neighborhood in Miami.
Shocking footage shows the moment a car exploded in Florida, killing a woman who police believe was targeted by her husband.
Doorbell footage from a neighboring home shows that the car was parked on a road in the Miami suburbs of Hialeah Gardens when it erupted into a fireball just before 6 a.m. on Feb. 1.
The explosion was outside the home of Noel Ruiz Mestre, 50, who police now allege intentionally detonated a homemade bomb while his wife was sitting in the passenger seat.

His wife, who has not publicly been identified, was killed in the blast.
The couple’s relationship had been marked by recent conflicts, possibly related to an alleged infidelity by the woman and according to an arrest form, on Saturday morning the couple got in the car and drove away from their home when the vehicle suddenly stopped.
The husband and wife had been arguing inside the car, and the woman tried to get out but was unable to, police said.
Moments later, her husband got out and allegedly set off the homemade explosive device near the vehicle. His wife was later found inside torched automobile, reportedly “burned beyond recognition”.

There was a dispute inside the car, and the spouse tried to get out but was unable to, and they continued arguing.
After setting off the explosion Ruiz Mestre allegedly ran inside his home, changed his clothes, and stabbed himself in the stomach with a knife, then fled the scene but later called 911 for help with his injuries, detectives said.
When the firefighters arrived at the scene, they found the vehicle engulfed in flames. In the front passenger seat, they discovered the charred body of the victim, who was completely unrecognizable due to the severe burns.
The alleged arsonist also suffered burns from the explosion and was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

Authorities have already brought charges of second-degree murder and first-degree arson against Ruiz Mestre. He remains hospitalized, but will be taken to jail after he recovers, detectives said.
One of the couple’s neighbors, Miguel Hernandez who was sleeping when the bomb went off, recalls being awakened by the sheer force it let off after being detonated.
“I get up, and I was like, what’s happening? Because the explosion was too, too, too loud,” Hernandez said. “It was not a ‘pow pow’ it was ‘bah bah.’”
Hernandez said he looked outside to see the car engulfed in flames but was unaware that somebody was inside, expressing his shock when he found later out Mestre’s wife had died in the blast.
