A hitman who shot dead a beauty queen was arrested by police after they identified him via a gruesome tattoo of her burned face on his arm.
The fugitive killer, whose name was not published local media in Altônia, in the state of Parana, Brazil, was arrested on June 7, seven years into his flight after the double-homicide.
The victim Bruna Zucco Segatin, 21, was found shot dead alongside her 30-year-old boyfriend Valdir de Brito Feitosa in the back of a burned out pick-up truck in March 2018, in the rural area of ​​Altônia.
From the onset of the investigation, authorities believed the underlying cause involved drug trafficking in the border region with Paraguay.
The former Miss Altônia’s face had been hideously disfigured by the flames. Police believe that Feitosa was the main target and the former Miss Altônia just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Authorities in the Parana say they zeroed in on the gunman after linking the killings to local drugs and contraband trafficking rivals.
Police released arrest photographs showing the suspected killer had tattooed a grim souvenir of Bruna’s execution with a new tattoo of a woman’s head engulfed in flames on his left hand. The sick memento was discovered after the arrest.
Police chief Reginaldo Caetano said: “The tattoo on the suspect depicts a woman with part of her face on fire. Bruna’s charred body was found in the back of a pick-up truck.”

The Civil Police are still looking for Eliezer Lopes de Almeida, 47, from Pato Branco, who is believed to be the intermediary between the mastermind and the killer.
