The so called ‘Minnesota political assassin’ made his first appearance in a federal court in St Paul, Minnesota, on Monday.
Vance Luther Boelter, who back in 2016 was appointed by former Gov. Mark Dayton, to serve on the Governor’s Workforce Development Council, is accused of wounding State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette around 2 am on Saturday, Hoffman was shot nine times, and his wife was shot eight times. Both are expected to recover.
Boelter then went to the home of former Democratic House Speaker Melissa Hortman. He shot dead politician and her husband.
Not done he drove to the homes of two more politicians. One he missed because the family was on vacation. The other he had to abort as police were arriving for a welfare check on the family, after reports of shooting in the area.
Boelter, 57, faces four federal charges for stalking and murdering former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, including two counts of second-degree murder.
He also faces two federal charges of attempted second-degree murder, for shooting and wounding Minnesota state Sen. John Hoffman as his wife early Saturday morning.
The suspect did not enter a plea. His next court appearance is scheduled for 27 June.

On Monday federal authorities showed images of Boelter’s stunning arsenal of weapons and the rubber mask he allegedly used to allegedly carry out his twisted shootings were seen in new photos Monday.
Photos show multiple weapons, including AK-47-style rifles, inside Boelter’s SUV, as well as numerous backpacks in the vehicle. Another image shows the face mask, which Boelter allegedly used to disguise himself during his attack, on the state lawmakers and their families, according to law enforcement.

Minnesota suspected political assassin Vance Boelter captured alive after intense manhunt for fatal shooting of the Democratic politician and her husband on Saturday and going on the run.
After a two-day intense manhunt, Boelter was taken into custody on Sunday without incident in a rural, wooded area in Sibley County, southwest of Minneapolis, following a tip about a possible sighting hours earlier.
Boelter, a former appointee of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, a Democrat, was sought by police for allegedly wounding Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, and killing former Democratic House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband.

The shooter reportedly impersonated a police officer, showing up in tactical gear at the homes of the victims who then let him in, before he shot them. A family member called 911, but the assassin escaped after engaging fire with officers early Saturday morning in suburban Minneapolis
Capturing the fugitive ended the “largest manhunt in the state’s history,” which lasted around 43 hours, involved at least 200 officers and utilized a federal, state and local partnership.
He could also face federal charges, officials said.
He said Boelter visited the homes of two more politicians on the night of the alleged killings.
Police said the attack was carefully planned and that Boelter researched the victims and their families, conducted surveillance of their homes and took notes about the locations.

Officials released photos of evidence uncovered in the case, which include multiple assault style rifles, ammo, handwritten notes and a mask
The “manifesto” of lists a chilling who’s who of Minnesota lawmakers and abortion providers he may have had in his crosshairs.
Everyone from Sen. Amy Klobuchar to Gov. Tim Walz, Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan and state Attorney General Keith Ellison, were named in the document, which was discovered piecemeal in several locations.
Authorities said the document also included state politicians such as Sen. Tina Smith and U.S. Reps. Kelly Morrison and Ilhan Omar.
Officials said the disturbing catalog of the state’s political figures is giving investigators fresh insights into Boelter’s mind and raising the concerns that anyone named on the list could have been assassinated at some point.
Others listed include members of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party and an unknown number of abortion providers in the state.

Speaking on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday, host Kristen Welker asked Sen Amy Klobuchar if she was on the list, to which she replied, “I just know that they have added security without my request. So I think they’re concerned about everyone.”
The senior senator called Boelter a “murderous, murderous man” whose blood lust is unlikely to be confined to those listed.
Sen Smith in a Sunday interview with CNN said learning she was potentially in Boelter’s crosshairs was “deeply concerning.” She expressed gratitude for the stepped-up security presence being extended by local police to her and her family “because we still don’t know where this assassin is.”

Vance Boelter, the man authorities have accused of carrying out an act of “targeted political violence,” is listed by a Minnesota-based security company, Praetorian Guard Security Services, as its director of security patrols. His wife is listed as president and CEO.
The site which now appears to have been taken offline, describes the involvement of Dr. Vance Boelter with “security situations” in “Eastern Europe, Africa, North America and the Middle East, including the West Bank, Southern Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.”
The write up also states that “He brings a great security aspect forged by both many on the ground experiences combined with training by both private security firms and by people in the U.S. Military.”The According to his LinkedIn bio, Boelter has a doctorate in leadership and a master of science in management from Cardinal Stritch University after obtaining his bachelor’s degree in international relations from St. Cloud State University.
