Ana Carolina Silva and her husband, military police officer Jeferson Luiz Sagaz, were found dead inside a bathtub at a motel in São José, Brazil on Tuesday night
Authorities in Santa Catarina, Brazil said they are not ruling out murder after a military police officer and his wife have been found dead in the hot tub inside a room at a motel in the city of São José on Tuesday night.
Santa Catarina Civil Police chief Felipe Simão told Brazilian news outlet G1 that they have not ruled out the possibility that they are also looking into whether this was a case of accidental death or the pair committed suicide
The lifeless bodies of officer Jeferson Sagaz, 37, and Ana Carolina Silva, 42, were discovered at the Dallas Motel in São José, a city in the Greater Florianópolis area of southeastern Brazil, on Tuesday night.
Neither body showed any sign of violence or struggle, according to the authorities probing their deaths of the couple who had been married for 20 years.

Announcing that results of an autopsy to determine cause of death would take about 10 days to be completed, Chief Simão emphasized the importance of avoiding ‘speculation about the cause of death and the couple’s private life.’
Sagaz who was assigned to the Santa Catarina Military Police’s academy in Florianópolis and Silva, the owner of Moodnailsbr, a salon in São José which she opened nine years ago, have been married for almost 20 years.

Mystery is how the decades-long couple ended up the Dallas, a ‘love’ Motel, which offers rooms for $35-per-night or $14 for four hours. Neither body showed signs of trauma, but police have not ruled out foul play
According to one relative, Joice Botelho, Sagaz and his wife Ana were last seen alive on Sunday at their four-year-old daughter’s birthday at a park. The couple then went to a bar, but failed to return the next day to Sagaz’s sister’s home to pick up their daughter.
‘They went to a bar and were last seen around 11:30 pm,’ Botelho said.
‘The next day, they were supposed to pick up their daughter from his sister… and they didn’t show up.’
Simão said that while the family noticed that Sagaz and Silva were missing, they did not contact the police to file a report.
Police Chief Felipe Simão said the couple’s last steps were “analyzed” and they were found dead in the motel after. They were found inside an electrically heated bathtub that was still switched on when officers arrived.
While the mystery of how the decades-long couple ended up the Dallas, a ‘love’ Motel, which offers rooms for $35-per-night or $14 for four hours, is investigated, Ana and Jeferson were laid to rest earlier this week.
