Oregon woman fails to turn up for work, deputies conducting welfare check find missing staffer and their three children, ages 11, 9 and 7, shot dead by husband in ‘murder-suicide’, on their 9-acre property

A family of five, including three young children, have been found dead in a murder-suicide at a vast compound in Josephine County, according to Oregon State Police said. The bodies were were discovered inside the home on Hussey Lane in the Pickett Creek area of Josephine County, on Monday August 11.
The request for deputies to conduct a welfare check was lodged after a member of staff had uncharacteristically not shown up for work Monday.
Deputies arrived at the home to find the absentee worker Hannah Marie Behee, 42, dead from a gunshot. Same as her children, Grayson, 11, Nora, 7, and Trenton, 9.
The suspected shooter according to authorities, is Hannah’s husband Chad Scott Behee, 40, who was also found in the home, dead from an apparent self-inflicted shooting.
The property records show Chad and Marie Behee are co-owners of the property in the 200 block of Hussey Lane, the venue of the carnage.

Investigators noted there were suspicious conditions around the property which is situated on a 9 acre lot west of Merlin, but did not provide further details. 
While the motive for the killings remains unclear, officials revealed that the suspected killer had a troubled youth with a history of repeated suicide attempts. 
Hannah’s family and friends took to Facebook to express regret that they could not help prevent the tragedy.
Relatives also set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds to help with the funeral costs for Hannah and the children: ‘I am Hannah’s cousin and I am attempting to raise funds to help the family with funeral costs associated with a tragic incident that recently happened,’ wrote Michael Nadey.

The crowd funding page so far, has raised $4,985 of the $10,000 goal. The page describes the magnitude of the loss: ‘This devastating loss has left their family and friends in deep sorrow. Hannah was a loving mother, and her children were full of life and promise.’ 
The investigation of the family’s deaths is ongoing.
