An ex-convict accused of kidnapping a Massachusetts teenager has arrested Thursday in Manchester, New Hampshire.
40-year-old Christopher Rodriguez who previously convicted of second-degree murder was arrested Thursday after police say he kidnapped a 15-year-old girl from North Andover, Massachusetts.
Rodriguez faces charges of kidnapping a juvenile, endangering the welfare of a child, hindering apprehension or prosecution and obstructing government administration.
US Marshals arrested Rodriguez Thursday afternoon on Route 28 near Wellington Road with the teenager.
Officials say Rodriguez lured the teen as part of the kidnapping. According to investigators the involvement of the juvenile and her abductor possibly dates back to 2023.
“The juvenile has been safely returned to the Massachusetts Department of Youth Services by the North Andover Police Department,” United States Marshals Service officials wrote in a news release.
Christopher Rodriguez was previously convicted of second-degree murder in connection with a 1999 armed robbery in New York City. Sentenced to prison in 2000, he was released in July 2017.
After his arrest on Thursday, Rodriguez was booked and held at the Londonderry Police Department, while awaiting a hearing, while the teenager was placed in the custody of the Department of Youth Services in Massachusetts.
