The remains were returned to relatives on Monday, August 25.
The family originally from MichoacĂ¡n, moved to Guadalajara’s metropolitan area of Jalisco for work just months earlier.

Investigators tracked part of the pickup’s route using CCTV, which led them to a nearby mechanic’s workshop.
‘The scene was processed, and investigators found multiple pieces of evidence suggesting the family was killed there,’ prosecutor Alfonso GutiĂ©rrez SantillĂ¡n said, adding ‘While the forensic results are not yet in, ballistic and blood evidence almost certainly confirm they were murdered at that location.’
Two men present at the workshop were taken in to give statements but were later released due to a lack of evidence.

Garibay‘s TikTok content includes videos of her lip-syncing to ‘narcocorrido’ ballads, which extols the escapades of drug traffickers, but authorities believe deaths may be linked to her husband’s business activities. Gil Licea was involved in buying and selling vehicles and tomato farming
Upon leaving the prosecutor’s office, they pair were joined by two other individuals who had been waiting for them. However minutes later, armed men intercepted and abducting the group of four. One of the men, one managed to escape, while kidnappers forcibly took other three.
The three men remain have not been recovered, whiled authorities are seeking the fourth to obtain his statement.
‘Investigations show the perpetrators had been watching the exit for over two hours. ‘It wasn’t an immediate attack – they waited until the group had moved a few meters before carrying out the abduction,’ prosecutor Blanca Trujillo said.
