Police have arrested a 33-year-old man, identified as Tonny Odhiambo, who they believe to have been in her company at the time as investigations continue. Odhiambo was arraigned at Kibra Magistrate’s court on Monday, April 27, in connection with the death of Consolata Githinji.

Records show Githinji [photo], was in the company of a man and another female when they checked in. Police have arrested Tonny Odhiambo, 33, the man believed to have been in her company at the time

Tonny Odhiambo [L-R], it was revealed is the prime suspect in another case of sexual assault which happened at Kilimani estate. He is reportedly known mostly for leasing houses in high brow areas where he and accomplices commit their crimes
Investigators said the AirBnB reservation was not booked in the suspect’s name, but under one of his friends and according to the records three individuals – two women and a man – checked into the same room between 5:56pm and 3:57am that day.
As the victim’s family seek to clarify if their daughter’s death was suicide or she was pushed, the extension granted by the court, it is expected, gives investigators leeway to establish if Githinji’s companions played any role in her tragic ‘jump’.
More so as records reveal that aside being the prime suspect in the mysterious death of Githinji, Odhiambo has been linked to a separate case of sexual assault – he is the prime suspect in the rape of a female ICT student in September 2025, in Kilimani estate.
He was released on his personal cognizance pending the conclusion of investigation. However on the date he was scheduled to appear before the Nakuru High Court, authorities failed to present him. He violated his bail conditions and never appeared in court.
Law enforcement since have been monitoring his movements and his arrest is expected to shed light on those past accusations as well.
