The vicious, broad-daylight murder of a Texas woman was far from a random act of violence, police in the city of Del Rio revealed. Instead, Kitty Mia Diaz, 21, and Amaya Cookie Diaz, 19, and their pal, Kyandra Renee Faz, 21, knew the 32-year-old victim, Caroline “Caro” Peña, Del Rio Police Chief Frank Ramirez said, without specifying the nature of the relationship between Peña and the murder suspects.
The three suspects are facing first-degree murder charges after police say Cookie repeatedly stabbed Peña in the back during a heated confrontation in the small border city of Del Rio on Thursday afternoon.

Sisters Amaya Cookie Diaz, 19, [left], and Kitty Mia Diaz, 21, [right], along with their friend, Kyandra Renee Faz, 21, [center], are facing first-degree murder charges. Del Rio police said Cookie repeatedly stabbed Peña in the back before Kitty and Kyandra joined in the beating on Thursday
Police have not offered an explanation for why the four young women, two of them mothers, were fighting.
Faz told police that Peña had “arrived at her residence looking to start a fight,” according to a criminal complaint.
Surveillance footage later obtained by investigators showed Peña’s black Dodge pickup truck driving up to Faz’s house.
The Diaz sisters, Cookie and Kitty, arrived shortly after.
The the charging document states that in the video Cookie is seen flying out of the passenger seat of a black Chrysler 300 and confronting Peña. She was holding an object believed to be a knife in her right hand.
She is then seen in the clip striking the victim in the back repeatedly and blood begins soaking her shirt.

The suspects allegedly knew Carolina Peña, seen [photo], with her children, the woman they butchered on Thursday, according to the police chief of the City of Del Rio. Cookie was caught on camera stabbing her in the back repeatedly while Kitty and Kyandra jumped in to beat her up in the gang up
At this point Kitty Diaz and Kyandra Faz jump in and start beating Peña before the trio flee the scene.
Peña was transported by her nephew to a San Antonio area hospital where she succumbed to the stab wounds at around 9 pm.
Ramirez stressed that Peña’s decision to go to home of Faz house does not suggest she bore responsibility for the violence that ensued.
Within a couple of hours following the altercation, Cookie and Kitty flashed twisted smiles as police led them away in handcuffs.
Footage of their arrest recorded outside their home showed Kitty, barefoot, dressed in tight black shorts and a halter top with an illustration of white hands cupping her breasts, seemingly without a spot of care about the crime leading to her arrest.

Her similarly scantily clad younger sister Cookie also put on a show for the cameras, brazenly flashing her teeth and giggling after sarcastically yelling “Stop recording!” at the camera.
Expressing his disgust at the suspect’s apparent lack of remorse, Chief Ramirez blasted the sisters’ demeanor as stunningly “callous.”
“My impression is it didn’t look good, and you would think there would be a little more remorse in a situation like that – it looked callous,”said the chief..
The three murder suspects remain behind bars in lieu of $5 million bond set during their first court appearance Friday.
All three have requested the service of court-appointed attorneys.
