A 37-year-old from Moorhead, Minnesota, is being helds on severe felony charges after authorities state she directly emailed self-incriminating evidence of child sexual abuse to a county attorney’s office.
Authorities in Clay County arrested Kimberly Faith Christy after she emailed the county attorney’s office stating, “I want to turn myself in for what I have done,” and provided a QR code containing graphic photos and videos of the abuse.
She is being held on charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and using a minor in a sexual performance, involving infants and toddlers.
Investigators say the QR code led to four videos and two photos showing the sexual abuse of two young girls.
Documents say two videos from November 2013 showed a nude infant. Two more videos from March 2018 showed another child between six months and two years.
Documents also describe two more photos, including one that appears to show a child under three.
Police say Christy later admitted in an interview to sexually assaulting both children, as shown in the videos..
Documents say if convicted, she faces up to 30 years in prison and a $40,000 fine on each criminal sexual conduct count, and up to 10 years and a $20,000 fine on each use-of-a-minor-in-a-sexual-performance count.
