“Do not sound alarm, the man in the very back wants $100s and $50s … no dye packs or trackers … he has gun on my kids,” according to court documents cited by KCNC-TV.
After receiving the $500 from the teller investigators said the babaysitter then took the kids to the park in the town north of Denver near Fort Collins. Yet no man was in the car at the time.
Deputies found a vehicle matching the description of Einspahr’s white Nissan SUV outside a nearby home later that day and arrested Einspahr, Weld County Sheriff Steve Reams said in a statement.
“The Weld County Sheriff’s Office is happy to report that the children were not harmed during the commission of this crime,” Reams said.
Einspahr faces charges of robbery and child abuse and she was incarcerated in the Weld County jail. She told investigators she robbed the bank because she needed money for restitution in a separate case charging her with 30 counts of theft and forgery, according to the court documents.
