Near midnight on Aug. 10, 19-year-old Larnell Bruce Jr, recently moved to Gresham, Ore. was hanging out with friends outside of a local 7-Eleven, when a notorious white supremacist and prison gang leader, Russell Courtier and his girlfriend drove up to the store
Almost instantly, security camera footage shows a full melee breaking out between Bruce and Courtier. Courtier’s girlfriend, Colleen Hunt, could be overheard yelling “Get him, baby, get him.” Soon after, Courtier smashed Bruce’s head into the front window of the convenience store.
Bruce then pulled out a knife to protect himself, Courtier and Hunt got back into their SUV. Bruce began running home when the pair hit him head-on, running him over.

Larnell Malik Bruce, 19, had been charging his phone outside the convenience store on the corner of East Burnside and 188th Street in Gresham, Oregon, on the night of August 10.
Shortly before midnight, 38-year-old Russell Courtier, a notorious prison gang leader and his girlfriend Colleen Hunt, 35, pulled up in their 1991 Jeep Wrangler.
A fight quickly broke out between Courtier and the teenager and he smashed Bruce’s head into the store’s front window.

But Bruce had pulled out a knife to protect himself leading the couple to get back into their vehicle, the New York Daily News reports.
Then, security footage shows Bruce trying to run home – and zigzagging to avoid the SUV.
As he tried to cross the street, the couple’s Jeep is seen moving into oncoming traffic and itting the teenager head-on. Courtier was driving with Hunt in the passenger seat.
Police found Bruce on the street with critical brain injuries. He was taken to hospital but died of his injuries four days later.
Officers had responded to a 911 call from the 7-Eleven at 11.45pm. At the time, the men were physically fighting outside the store.

They arrived within two minutes, but Bruce had already been mown down.
The teenager had only moved to Gresham to live with his mother and younger brother six months before his death, the Mercury reported.
On August 18, a grand jury indicted Courtier and Hunt for murder.
Both are being held without bail in a Multnomah County jail and also facing an additional felony charge of failing to perform the duties of a driver.
However, they have not been charged with any hate crimes. Daily Mail Online has contacted the Multnomah County District Attorney for further comment about whether the killing was racially-motivated.

He has managed to slip through the system with relatively minor sentences for his string of felonies. In 2011, he avoided punishment for illegally shooting rounds from his car because police had performed an illegal search. A year later, he got off probation only for smashing a woman’s head against a windshield. He is currently in the second year of his parole for a knife attack on a woman..

To help raise funds for the cost of medical bills and his funeral expenses, last month his family set up a GoFundMe page a message on the page said: ‘We lost our son, brother, cousin, nephew and friend to a senseless crime. He was just 19 years old and still had a full life to live.
‘Though this tragedy has devastated our family, Larnell has the opportunity to save many lives through the Organ Donor program.
‘We are asking for help to cover the funeral and medical expenses.’
