Pennsylvania gunman, Michael Cwiklinski, kills cop in ambush – later killed himself, pregnant female relative also found dead in the home with him

Veteran officer Scott Bashioum was killed Thursday in an ambush by a gunman.
Apple MD827LL/A EarPods with Remote and Mic – Standard Packaging – WhitePolice found suspect Michael Cwiklinski after a six-hour manhunt,and a pregnant woman dead inside a second home, just a half of a mile away from where the two cops were attacked. 47-year-old Cwiklinski apparently died of self-inflicted injuries, according to police.
Michael Cwiklinski apparently killed himself after shooting two officers, early Thursday. A pregnant female relative was found with him.
Officials say Cwiklinski committed suicide, identified the woman or detailed her relationship to the alleged killer. However one of the neighbors described the dead pair as a couple who have had a troubled relationship. He said the couple who live at the house where the shooting occurred have had past domestic problems.
“She has had a [protection from abuse order] against him … there have been back and forth disputes going on,” said the neighbor who also said the woman was pregnant.
Four months ago, Cwiklinski pled guilty to harassment, according to court records. The 47-year-old faced similar charges last November.

Officer Scott Bashioum and his partner responded to a domestic disturbance call at a Canonsburg home around 3:30 a.m. The pair ran into an “ambush upon their arrival” when Cwiklinski opened fire, state police Trooper Melinda Bonderanka said.
The officers both of whom were injured, were airlifted to Allegheny County Hospital.Officer Scott Bashioum, 52, later died from the injuries sustained in the shooting. His partner is said to be out of surgery and in stable condition.

The gunman fled the scene, prompting schools to cancel class as SWAT teams scoured the area. Around 9 a.m., search teams found Cwiklinski and a woman dead inside a nearby home.
Washington County Coroner S. Timothy Warco identified the dead man as Michael Cwiklinski and said he killed himself.
The officers were airlifted to a Pittsburgh hospital where their one later died
“He is a great guy, top to bottom. One of the best people I know inside and out,” said District Judge David Mark, who knew Bashioum and his family. “I can’t imagine what the family is going through.”

A neighbor who lives next door to the home where the police officers were shot said he heard the aftermath of the ambush attack and witnessed emergency responders carrying a wounded officer into an ambulance on a gurney.
“I heard the medics say, ‘stay with me, breathe. Hang in there. You’re going to be okay,'” one of the witnesses said.
