The accused killer was seen smiling in a New Jersey court on Monday, despite being accused of a murder which could land him behind bars for the rest of his life
Mixson, 20, seemed to be in high spirits when he flashed a bright smile for cameras and laughed during his arraignment in a New Jersey courtroom on Monday. He is currently facing 30 years to life in prison after being accused of gunning down 19-year-old Dajour Riley in broad daylight on March 28.

Riley had been in a car with his girlfriend when he was shot in Jersey City. The teen later died after being taken to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.
Officials claim Mixson was responsible for Riley’s death, which occurred on Union Street near Garfield Avenue in Jersey City, New Jersey.
The next day, 27-year-old Terrel Smith was gunned down near a city school in what officials said was related to Riley’s death.
Mixson was arrested along with 19-year-old Vernell Mohammed for Riley’s death, and both are charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and weapons offenses related to a gun, NJ.com reported.
Mixson pleaded not guilty to the charges when he appeared in court for his three minute arraignment on Monday afternoon.
The news outlet reported Mixson laughed when a man came to his hearing and was asked to leave, throwing up a hand sign and yelling something as he left.

In their initial search for Mixson, police described him as being armed and dangerous, but Mixson turned himself in to authorities without incident on March 30, two days after the shooting.
He is being held pending trial and is expected back in court on August 31,.
In keeping with an apparent family trend, two of Mixson’s cousins, Daquan and Sammy Mixson, have pled guilty for two separate [unrelated] killings this year in New Jersey.
His co-defendant Vernell Mohammed has already been indicted in the case. Rana told Young she will seek to have the two tried separately if the case goes to trial.
