A 53-year-old chiropractor and his wife jumped together to their deaths from a building in Midtown early Friday after leaving a note complaining of financial woes, police said.
The couple lived in downtown Manhattan, left behind suicide notes. The notes were found in separate Ziploc bags that contained the victim’s IDs, sources said.
The middle-aged couple leapt from his ninth floor office, which had recently been permanently closed in the 17-story commercial building on the corner of Madison Ave. and E. 33 St. about 5:45 a.m., sources said.
Their bodies were covered with white sheets once police arrived at the scene, shutting down the entire block to investigate.

“It’s awfully scary and sad,” said Cortney Jekielek, 36, a deejay at 305 Fitness a few doors down from where the bodies lay. “We had to cancel classes but so what? This is terrible.”
The building the victims jumped from houses law and advertising firms, therapists’ offices and other commercial space.
