The teen suspected of plowing a van into pedestrians in Barcelona was among five fatally shot by police during a second attack hours later in Cambrils, according to local media.
Authorities haven’t confirmed the identity of any of the slain terrorists or the identity of the driver but police sources say Moussa Oukabir, 17, was one of the five shot while trying to ram a second vehicle into crowds at the tourist resort.

Moussa Oukabir is the younger brother of Driss Oukabir, 28, who was arrested Thursday on suspicion of renting the white van used in the first attack at Las Ramblas.
Driss claimed innocence in the attack, saying his ID card was stolen — which put investigators onto the trail of his younger brother, who once wrote on social media that he wanted to “Kill the unbelievers and leave only Muslims who follow their religion.”
Police on Friday released photos of Moussa and three other suspected members of the terror cell behind the attacks — Mohamed Hychami, 24, Younes Abouyaaqoub, 22, and Said Aallaa, 18.

17-year-old Moussa Oukabir is a Moroccan, though born in Ripoli in Girona in northern Spain, but as a minor is still of Moroccan nationality, is suspected to be being the mastermind behind the attack.
Three more Moroccan men were killed, Mohammed Hychamy, 24, Younes Abouyaaqoub 22, and Said Aallaa, 18, according to local TV station, Rtve.
It’s unclear if the other three were among the five shot in Cambrils or are still on the run, but Italy’s La Stampa reports that border guards are on the lookout for Abouyaaqoub, who may be trying to flee in a Renault Kangoo van.
After the Barcelona attack police started the manhunt  for Moussa Oukabir, who records show had spent a month in custody in Figueres prison, suspected of sexual abuse, before being released in 2012.

The 28-year-old Moroccan who was nabbed after he turned himself in at Ripoll, about 60 miles north of Barcelona, but has denied involvement and told police that his identity documents were stolen before they were used to secure the vehicle. He reported to authorities after seeing his photograph on TV and social media.
Catalan authorities believe the younger man fled the scene of the carnage.
A fourth person was arrested Friday in connection with the attack in Barcelona and another incident in the seaside town of Cambrils, where one woman lost her life after an Audi A3 barreled into tourists on the Costa Dorada.
Seven people including a cop were injured in the attack, which was being linked by Spanish authorities to the strike in Barcelona.

Five suspected jihadists wearing fake suicide vests were shot dead by police as they jumped out of their car, clutching knives and taunting cops.
A British man who saw one of the attackers being shot by police told the BBC that he had seen people running into the bar where he was as the assault unfolded.
“This guy came running up the road and was shouting something. I didn’t know what it was, so we said call the police,” said Fitzroy Davies, of Wolverhampton, UK.
“Within 30 seconds the police was [sic] already there, jumped out of the car, started shouting at the guy; the guy was then saying something else again,” he said. “And then they — ‘pop, pop’ — did a couple of shots and he fell down.
“He stood back up and then he stepped over the fence and he started, he was taunting, smiling and he carried on walking to the police, and then they gave it to him again, a couple more shots and then he fell to the ground.”
Ripoll Mayor Jordi Munell addressing local media said the Oukabirs came from a “normal family”.
“We are surprised to see these tragic events being related to a family from Ripoll,” he said. “They have lived here for many years and we have never had a problem. People here are sad and worried.|
“We are a town of around 11,000 people with 9 percent immigrants. We practically all know each other,” he added.
