A Texas police officer shot a suspected gunman dead and found seven more slain inside a suburban Dallas home during a football party Sunday night.
Debbie Lane whose daughter was Meredith Lane was one of the victims who was hosting the party, said her daughter was hosting a Cowboys watch party for friends when her ex-husband opened fire, killing Meredith Lane and six others were killed Sunday September 10, 2017.

The family of Meredith Lane Hight said she had recently divorced her husband before he showed up Sunday night at a football watch party and opened fire, killing seven people and injuring two.
The Georgia native was married to the shooter for six years. She was the owner of the home on West Spring Creek Parkway where the shooting occurred.

A flurry of gunfire led authorities to the gruesome discovery inside a Plano home around 8 p.m., police said.“I really wish we knew who the other victims were,” Lane said. “They were all close dear friends. We don’t know.”
Police were called at about 8 p.m. Sunday to the home near Blue Ridge Trail and heard shots as they approached, Officer David Tilley with the Plano PD said.
The suspect was killed at the location by an officer: “The first arriving officer on scene made entry inside the house, confronted the suspect, ultimately shooting and killing him,” police said.

Inside the home, police made the gruesome discovery of nine gunshot victims, all adults. Seven of the victims were dead at the scene. The other two victims were found alive but critically injured. They were transported to a local hospital. The suspect’s death brings the total number of dead to eights.

Witness Crystal Sugg said she heard a man and woman arguing moments before the gunfire.
“As she was going to the house, he started letting go. Just started releasing,” Sugg told WFAA-TV.

The shooting took place as the victims watched the Dallas Cowboys battle the New York Giants at AT&T Stadium, the Dallas Morning News reports, citing neighbors.
The paper states an unidentified man expressed agony after speaking with a neighbor and learning he was likely friends with most of the victims shot at the home.
