In her bid to take over the couple’s life, Boyd on one occasion took the liberty of cancelling a hospital appointment for Rhona – who she used to be her friend – while she was working for Police Scotland, the Daily Record reports.
Rhona became friends with Boyd when they worked in a Boots shop, although the friendship deteriorated by the end of 2013. She joined Police Scotland when she left Boots in 20115. She quit the force in December
Boyd pled guilty to stalking and causing the couple “fear and alarm” between June and September last year.
She also admitted a charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
She was sentenced to 11 months and granted a five-year non-harassment order to protect the O’Connors, Friday by sheriff Paul Crozier.
He branded Boyd’s actions “evil and calculated to be destructive”..
Noting that the defendant admitted to lying – until a second background report was compiled – insisting that she had been in an intimate relationship with Kevin. She later accepted it was untrue: “Your conduct throughout this whole sorry episode has been destructive, self-serving and manipulative,” sheriff Crozier said.
Speaking afterwards, Rhona said: “It has been an absolute nightmare, my health suffered, I have been ill constantly.
“This is punishment, we will be able to move on.”
