A bumbling thief was knocked out by a cashier when he tried to rob a Speedway. convenience store, in Ohio on Monday.  The career criminal from Ohio was left with a black eye after getting knocked out by a cashier as he tried to rob the gas station.

Andre Young, 52, attempted to rob a Speedway off Northland Boulevard in Forest Park on Monday night, but was stopped by a single powerful punch to the face in a moment captured by security cameras.
The suspect acted as if he was going to buy a can of beer, police said, then vaulted across the counter with a box cutter in his hand at a Speedway store, WLWT reports.
Young told the worker, “We can do this the easy way or the hard way.”
The clerk responded with a crushing right hook caught on surveillance video. The hapless would-be robber was out cold on the store floor.
After incapacitating Young, the cashier then called authorities.

In a 911 call, the clerk told dispatch: “I had to knock him out. You need to get a trooper here now!”.
‘He’s still in here,’ he said to the 911 operator, according to WLWT. ‘I had to knock him out. You need to get a trooper here now, because he’s in here, he’s in here all f***** up.’
The clerk explained to the dispatcher: “He [Young], tried to jump over the counter, and he had a blade in his hands. I’ve got the blade in my hand now.”
Young is now on crutches and has a badly bruised left eye. On top of that, he’s facing charges of aggravated robbery and assault.

Young allegedly acted like he wanted to buy a beer before trying to jump over the counter. The ex-con with a long list of priors told police in a hospital interview he was using the box cuter to cut something from his shirt, as reported by Fox News.

When an officer pointed out that it’s not smart to carry a blade and try to  jump a counter if you’re not robbing someone, Young replied:  “Man, I was drunk.”
During his court appearance on Tuesday, Young was still showing the injuries from the failed robbery, using crutches to support himself.
Police said Young was also convicted of robbing the same Speedway store in 2005.

He was given a $175,000 bond and was charged with aggravated robbery and assault.
And this isn’t the first time Young has tried and failed to rob the gas station,  in 2005 he was convicted of using a bat to rob the same Speedway in 2005.
Records showed that Young had five prior felony convictions, in Hamilton County.
