Suspect Ruslan Baimov of Brooklyn was charged, Tuesday in a New York court, with attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend
Minutes after his girlfriend broke up with him, a Brooklyn man busted into her apartment and slit her friend’s throat before stabbing and raping his ex-gal pal, sources and authorities said.
The incident which took place Sea Gate spanned five hours. The quick thinking home owner had asked her 11-year-old daughter who was present in the home at the time to lock herself in a bedroom while the assault and slaying took place.
Ruslan Baimov, 40, burst into the apartment last Saturday night seeking vengeance after his girlfriend put an end to their relationship, sources said.
After stabbing the friend, he held the two hostage, alternating between expressing his affection for his gal pal and threatening to mutilate and kill her, police sources said.
The 42-year-old friend is on a ventilator at Coney Island Hospital and may not survive, sources said.
The attack was set in motion after the friend went to visit the suspect’s girlfriend at her apartment near Neptune Ave. and Beach 45th St. shortly before midnight.
The two went to see Baimov, who lives in a different apartment in the same building, so that the girlfriend could end their two-year romance, sources said.
The two women then went back to the girlfriend’s apartment and, while the girlfriend was taking a shower, Baimov pushed in an air-conditioner and climbed through the open window.
When the girlfriend ran out of the bathroom, she saw Baimov, knife in hand, arguing with her friend. Before his former lover could intervene, Baimov slit the friend’s throat, sources said.
As the friend crumbled to the floor, barely able to breathe, the girlfriend ran into a bedroom and told her daughter to lock the door and not leave the room.
When the girlfriend tried to help her friend, Baimov turned the knife on his girlfriend, stabbing her in the right leg, sources said.
He then bizarrely apologized, sources said, calling his girlfriend the only woman for him.
The girlfriend pushed Baimov away — but he then pinned her arms down, raped her and forced her to perform oral sex on him, prosecutors said.
When Baimov eventually put the knife down on the couch, his girlfriend managed to push it between the cushions, later convince him to allow her to get her critically-injured friend a drink of water.
The suspect at some point grabbed beer he had placed outside the apartment’s door, then later stepped outside to smoke a cigarette. He took his girlfriend with him but she was unable to find anyone she could call out to for help.
Finally, about 4:50 a.m. Sunday, he told his girlfriend he was tired and going home and that she should call 911.

The girlfriend alerted a neighbor, who called for help.
While the girlfriend’s stab wound was not life-threatening, her pal was rushed to Coney Island Hospital, where she remains in critical condition. According to Assistant District Attorney Ari Rottenberg, the girlfriend’s pal is “brain dead” and “likely to die in a few days.”
Baimov initially refused to open the door to his apartment for cops, but Emergency Service Unit cops arrived, forced the door open and arrested suspect, who has no previous criminal record, sources said.
Baimov was arraigned Tuesday on attempted murder and rape charges and ordered held without bail.
Late Sunday night, Special Victims detectives were assigned to the case after the girlfriend told a prosecutor that she was so traumatized by the incident that she initially didn’t remember that Baimov had sexually assaulted her.
He forced her to perform oral sex on him in the bathroom and tried to rape her, she told investigators, according to sources.
