Mother-of-two shoots dead her husband and their young sons before turning gun on herself in murder-suicide at a beachfront Texas resort
Police were called to San Luis Resort in Galveston early Monday after guests heard a popping sound from 8th-floor room
Inside, officers found a married couple Mauricio Morales and Flor de Maria Pineda, from Baytown, Texas and their sons,Mauricio Jr., 10, and 5-year-old David , suffering from fatal gunshot wounds
Mauricio Morales, 39, and the youngest boy David, were pronounced dead at the scene
The suspected shooter, 37-year-old Flor de Maria Pineda, shot her family and then herself with a 9mm handgun cops said
Authorities believe Pineda executed her husband and sons as they slept

Officers heard faint moaning and forced their way into the locked room, Schirard revealed at an afternoon press conference.
Inside, they found a 39-year-old man identified as Mauricio Morales and his two sons, Mauricio Jr., 10, and 5-year-old David, lying in bed suffering from gunshot wounds.
The 37-year-old wife, identified the as Flor de Maria Pineda. was found mortally wounded on the floor in the room. Goose Creek Consolidated School District confirms both of the boys attended Victoria Walker Elementary as a 5th grader and kindergarten student.
Schirard says the Morales and the youngest child, David, were pronounced dead at the scene, but Pineda and the older child were still alive and were rushed to University of Texas Medical Branch, where both later succumbed to their injuries.
Police say that based on physical evidence at the scene, Flor de Maria Pineda was the one who opened fire on her family from a 9mm handgun, which was recovered from the scene.
Investigators have not ruled out the possibly that the father and children were shot in their sleep.
The Hispanic family of four, residents of Baytown, Texas had checked into the resort in Galveston at around 7pm the night before.
A representative of San Luis Resort’s parent company released a statement to KHOU on Monday afternoon confirming that the incident ‘appears to have been a murder-suicide amongst a family in their room.’
