Jamie Lynn Goforth initially fled town to avoid arrest on February 9, but turned herself in authorities in Burleson County, Texas after two days. The science teacher was hit with a charge of improper relationship between an educator and student.
She faces between two to 20 years behind bars if convicted.
Police say the relationship between the teen and Goforth, a 37-year-old Chemistry and Physics teacher at Caldwell High School in Texas, started in October 2017. When the relation came to light, she was arrested on Sunday for having an inappropriate relationship with a student.

When the two-day fugitive eventually turned herself in on Sunday, she was ordered held on $10,000 bail, but she later posted that amount and was released.
The suspect has been married to the high school’s athletic director and head football coach, Bobby Jack Goforth, since 2011. The couple have two young daughters together, in addition to Bobby’s two daughters from a previous relationship.

Following Goforth’s arrest, the school district released this statement.
‘Many in our school community have heard of the arrest of Caldwell High School teacher Jamie Goforth.
‘The incident is being addressed through the court system, and the employee is not currently assigned to duty. The District holds all employees to a high standard of professionalism. We will monitor the matter and cooperate with any law enforcement requests throughout this legal process.
‘Our first priority is to provide a safe learning environment for our students. Personnel matters are considered confidential, so please understand that we are unable to provide further details regarding this matter.
‘We thank our entire community for the support of Caldwell ISD and its students.’
As if policy, Goforth has been placed on paid leave.
Records show Goforth a graduate of Texas A&M, taught chemistry and physics. Before her teaching career, she worked as a car dealership salesman and as a crime scene investigator.
The sheriff’s office said that investigators found tat Goforth [photo] had been involved in the “relationship” with the teen since October 2017
