The body of a Minnesota woman who was missing for six months has been found frozen in water, five miles from her home in Burnsville, Minn., last Sunday.
Elizabeth Perrault, 41, disappeared on November 1, 2017. The mother-of-three’s body was found encased in 500 lb of ice. A passerby spotted a body in 6ft of water in a small pond near the Minnesota River a week ago.

The body of Elizabeth Perrault was found encased in a 500lb block of ice. The mother-of-three had been missing since November .
Elizabeth V. Perrault, 41, had not been seen since Nov. 1, when she paid her rent on that apartment, according to search warrant affidavits filed in Dakota County District Court by police.
A passerby spotted Perrault’s body in 6ft of water in a small pond near the Minnesota River last Sunday. The ice is being defrosted slowly in an attempt to preserve evidence. ‘We had to cut her out. That chunk was about 500 pounds,’ Dakota County Sheriff Tim Leslie told the Star Tribune.
‘It was quite the recovery operation.’
Police had classified Perrault’s disappearance as “unexplained and highly suspicious,” based in part on evidence collected in her empty apartment three months after she was last seen.
A stain on the carpet and the pad beneath measuring 3 feet by 2 feet “tested positive for the presence of blood,” as did the stain underneath on the floor, the court filing continued. Authorities said the autopsy possibly revealing how Perrault was killed, is expected in a few days.

But authorities said that Perrault’s boyfriend’s story changed as the weeks went by, according to KSTP.

Her apartment manager said that the last time he saw Perrault she looked ‘sick’. He guessed that she must have weighed ’85 pounds’.
Perrault’s last picture on Facebook, posted in June, shows that she was receiving chemotherapy at the time.
Authorities said Perrault’s body had been in the ice for a long time and that she likely died in November or December.
