Jackie Jerome Rogers, 36, received the maximum possible sentence of 26 years to life, for the murder of his married lover in 2016
Rogers, then a 33-year-old nursing student, attacked Lisa Naegle in Dec 2016, beating the nursing teacher to death with a hammer before burying her body
Rogers fell in love with Naegle, 36, who was his nursing instructor, his attorney said and was frustrated she wanted to break up with him and go back to her husband
He then destroyed all her belongings and tried to cover up the crime
Rogers, from Lennox, LA, eventually confessed and was found guilty in Sept of first-degree murder in the slaying of 36-year-old Lisa Marie Naegle
A special circumstance allegation that he used a hammer during the killing was also “found true”
Naegle starred in the E! reality show Bridalplasty, which sees women competing to win a wedding and plastic surgery, in 2010

Defense attorney Jeremy Lessem said that Rogers fell in love with Naegle, from San Pedro, who was his nursing teacher. He helped out in her classroom and the two would go out for lunch.
He said his client finally ‘broke’ after months of being ‘toyed’ with by Naegle, according to NBC4.
Naegle flirted with him and when Rogers passed his nursing certification she took him and friends to Las Vegas in June 2016 where they slept together.
