Elizaveta Dubrovina, 22, was found guilty of murder “with particular cruelty” by a court in St. Petersburg, where she learned of her fate without showing any emotion as he sat in a glass cage, The Sun reported.

The drug addicted woman reportedly stabbed her 17-yer-old model sister 189 times, gouged her eyes out and sliced off her ears in a horrific fit of jealousy.
After psychiatric evaluation Elizaveta Dubrovina was found fit to stand trial and faced 25 years behind bars after she was sent for psychiatric treatment following the brutal 2016 crime in St. Petersburg, where her 17-year-old sister Stefania’s mutilated and naked body was found.

At trial, the prosecution stated that the defendant “scoffed at her sister” and “caused her to endure excruciating pain” because of her “dislike” for her sibling, court documents stated.
The documents also alleged that Dubrovina stabbed her sister in the head, neck, torso, arms and legs, “sliced off her ears” and ” gouged out her eyes”.
Adding that the defendant hated her sister so much that she “caused her to endure excruciating pain” by hacking her in the head, torso, arms and legs, according to court documents.
Elizaveta initially denied the charges vehemently denied the charges, instead blamed reportedly blame Stefania’s boyfriend, Alexey Fateev, 44, in whose apartment the victim died. He told authorities he found Stefania’s body when he returned home after buying wine, and said he detained Elizaveta to stop her escaping before calling the cops.
Prosecutors maintained that Fateev was a witness. He was never considered a suspect.

Elizaveta Dubrovina, who was envious of her sister Stefania’s good looks, had blamed the brutal 2016 attack on her sister’s alleged lover, Alexey Fateev, 44, in whose apartment the victim died as he was out shopping.
“Due to personal hostile relations, the defendant stabbed her sister at least 189 times with a knife into her vital organs, and cut off her right ear,” the city prosecutor’s office said in a statement. “The victim died at the scene from multiple wounds and blood loss.”
Dubrovina was cleared to face trial recently after undergoing compulsory psychiatric treatment.
Fateev told investigators he found Stefania’s naked body and managed to stop Elizaveta from fleeing.

The prosecutor added that Elizaveta “scoffed at her sister, causing her to endure excruciating pain because of her dislike,” adding that “she copied the image of her younger sister – the same hair color, the same lipstick.”
“There are photographs of both sisters hugging each other but there is no doubt that the elder sister envied the younger one,” the prosecutor said.
The sisters’ aunt, Ekaterina Dubrovina, has called Stefania’s death a “shocking tragedy,” While St. Petersburg showman Stas Baretsky, 45, who had known the sisters, believes the prison sentence was too harsh.
“I hope that the sentence to be reconsidered, as I believe she is not guilty,” he said.
