A 56-year-old man from Bellingham, Washington state accused of shooting dead his wife and their two pets may on Boxing Day have admitted to the murders in a series of chilling Twitter posts. 

Kevin Heimsoth is believed to have killed his elementary school principal wife, Lynn, her beloved Golden Retriever, Sukha, and a pet cat at their of Bellingham condominium on Thursday morning, before turning the gun on himself.
The shooter is in critical condition with a self-inflicted gunshot wound Friday, Dec. 27, at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle under police guard.
In a shock twist, The Bellingham Herald reports that Heimsoth may have tweeted the National Rifle Association, President Donald Trump and Senate Majority Mitch McConnell in the aftermath of the alleged rampage.
An account that investigators say belongs to Kevin Heimsoth sent out four reply tweets shortly after 3am on on Dec 26, with the user stating that he had just killed his wife and pet dog.
The first tweet was a reply to the NRA’s Christmas message, and read: ‘Guns don’t kill people, people do. Guns just make it a lot easier. AR-15 makes it super easy.
‘I jsit [sic] killed my whole family, and i couldnt have done it without a gun! I’m too much of a coward, a knife would have been waaay [sic] too hard. So, thanks to everyone at the NRA’.

The user of the account posted a separate tweet a minute later, which stated: ‘Moscow Mitch and everyone else for making this possible. Some should call for a wellfare check at [address] in Bellimgham Wa. Lots of blood…thoe [sic] dog was the hardest’.
The user of the account then posted the original tweet two more times, replying to messages sent out by President Trump and Mitch McConnell.
Heimsoth is also alleged to have turned the gun on himself. He was wounded and remains in hospital under police guard.
While it has not been confirmed that the Twitter account belongs to Kevin Heimsoth, records show that it is connected to emails and phone numbers that are linked to him.
