When those around a Florida teen ignored her allegations of physical abuse, she took matters into her own hands and installed security cameras in her bedroom to get the proof she needed.
Clips recorded by the 14-year-old resulted in the arrest of Damon Becnel on Jan. 2 and charged with child abuse without great bodily harm and animal cruelty, according to an arrest report released on Tuesday. The relationship between the two are unknown at this time.
According to ABC News the girl turned over a pair of videos to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office on Dec. 24, alleging they would reveal the abuse she experienced the night prior.

At one point, Becnel can also be seen pulling out a knife and shouting expletive-laden threats toward the young girl’s dog.
“I will cut this f—king god—n dog’s f—ing eyeballs out,” he shouted while the teen begged him to stop.
The girl’s mother, Allison Tringas, in an interview with WEAR said her daughter had been attempting to report the abuse for years – but neither she nor the authorities believed her.
“Nothing was done. Nothing has ever been done to help my daughter,” Tringas told the news station.
“She absolutely knew that something bad was going to happen and nobody would believe her unless she had that on film.”

“She is absolutely my hero. She is my hero,” Tringas told WEAR. “I would hate for justice not to be served and the system, again, to fail my precious daughter.”
The victim’s mother does not have custody of the girl, who is now living with Becnel’s best friend.
Damon Richard Becnel was arrested on January 2 after deputies watched videos brought to them by the victim. He was released Jan. 3 after posting $4,000 bond.

He is scheduled to appear in court on February 4.
