Moreno, 43, was taken into custody by police just after 5pm, according to <a class="class" href="https://www.silive.com/crime/2020/05/massive-police-response-in-mariners-harbor-for-report-of-shooting.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener">The Staten Island Advance</a>.<br />
While NY authorities are trying to determine if the home invasion was drug-related, Moreno was officially charged on May 12 with murder, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, criminal use of a firearm, assault, reckless endangerment, and acting in a manner injurious to a child.</p>

<p>Police caught Moreno as he was trying to leave the gruesome scene. He was still carrying the gun, NYPD Asst. Chief Kenneth Corey said.<br />

An unidentified 43-year-old woman was shot in the back in the home was rushed to Richmond University Medical Center in the West Brighton section of Staten Island, according to police.<br />

</span></span>At age 19, Moreno pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the shooting of <span style="color: var(--color-text);">22-year-old Theodis Watson</span> in 1992 at a Staten Island public housing complex a few hundred feet from the scene of Monday&#8217;s killings.<br />
Moreno spent 14 years in prison, for the killing. He has since been arrested and sentenced for various weapons and drug offenses.<br />
He returned to prison about a year after his release from his first stint, serving an additional nine years for drug and weapon possession. He was paroled in May 2017 and was under supervision at the time of his latest arrest, records show.<br />
Moreno was released on parole in 2017, according to authorities. He was friends with Rodriguez on Facebook.<br />
Investigators are still trying to determine the motive of the shootings.<br />
Police said they discovered narcotics &#8211; reportedly crack cocaine &#8211; and drug paraphernalia inside the home.</p>
