‘She says that Ryan would eventually become so irritated and angry that he began kicking at the dashboard, radio and gearshift of the vehicle and at her legs.
‘Corie stated that she punched at Ryan’s legs to try to get him to stop.’

Bane’s ex-wife Corie Stevenson said Bane was pleasant in public but abusive behind closed doors – once beating her so badly she chipped a tooth

When they finally arrived home a little after 5am on November 27, 2011, Stevenson said Bane dragged her out of their truck.
‘Corie states that…Ryan grabbed her in the dining room, threw her to the ground, and smashed her head into the floor, chipping one of her teeth.’
Bane however, had a different version of the altercation, saying they had arrived home shortly after 3 am.
He told Sheriff’s Officer Vincent Lichok that Stevenson had tried to drag him out of the truck and threw things at him in the house. He went to bed, Bane claimed.
‘A short time later, Corie was on top of him, hitting him. He grabbed her and took her out into the hallway, went back into the bedroom and shut the door and locked it,’ Lichok wrote.
But the cops said the evidence suggested Stevenson’s version was correct.
‘The interior of the truck was messy and there were marks on the dashboard consistent with Corie’s claims,’ Groleau wrote. The ground outside of the truck’s passenger side was covered with items from inside the truck, consistent with Corie’s claims of being dragged out of the truck.
‘Corie’s front right tooth had a chip out of it that appeared to be fresh,’ the officer continued. ‘Her right ear lobe was bloody and scratched. Her right shoulder and the right side of her neck showed red scratches. Her right eyelid was scratched and red.’
Groleau said that when the cops brought Ryan downstairs ‘Corie became noticeably frightened and ran from the area into the laundry room.’
Stevenson told the cops that Bane had attacked her about six months earlier so badly that she had to skip work for several days due to the marks on her face. She said she did not report that incident.

Stevenson, now 43 and living in Melbourne, Florida, with her fiancé Ralph Carpenter, claims she lived in constant fear of Bane during their five-year marriage.
He must have beat her up 100 times while they were together,’ Carpenter said.
She also said in an interview that she was so frightened of him that she slept with a shotgun at her side during their 2013 divorce.
‘Ryan’s personality changed once we got married,’ Stevenson told The Sun.
‘He suddenly became a different person and that started on our honeymoon in Spain. We went to Madrid, Valencia, all over. But he was a total Jekyll and Hyde character.
She said of the attack for which Bane was arrested: ‘I saw the devil behind his eyes and it scared me. It was a totally different person who was there. It was petrifying.’
In her divorce filing, Stevenson specifically asked the judge to prevent Bane selling their property or canceling their life insurance because she believed that’s what he would do immediately on learning she had filed.
She said the marriage had broken down to such an extent that ‘objects of matrimony have been destroyed and there remains no reasonable likelihood that the marriage can be preserved.’

Heslop, 41, from Southampton, England, met Bane on Tinder eight months ago. She disappeared from Siren Song, which was moored 120ft from Frank Bay on the extreme western end of St. John on March 8.
Bane said he had been awoken around 2 am by the anchor alarm that rings if the vessel is straying from its mooring.
He said the couple had eaten dinner in a restaurant, leaving at 10pm in line with the local Covid curfew and took their dinghy back to the $500,000 catamaran, which he charters for up to $13,250 for six days, according to the website VISailing.
They went to sleep, Bane says, and when he woke, Heslop had gone.
Bane called the Coast Guard reporting that ‘his girlfriend may have fallen’ from the yacht.

Cops and the Coast Guard have been scouring land and sea, but they have been prevented from stepping foot on Siren Song by Bane who is not cooperating in the inquiry. He has handed over her passport, cellphone and iPad to authorities.
Virgin Islands PD spokesman Toby Derima said officers had performed an ‘initial land search’, adding: ‘Soon after reporting Ms Heslop missing, Mr. Bane acquired the services of an attorney.
‘Upon his attorney’s advice, Mr. Bane exercised his constitutional right to remain silent and denied officers’ requests to search the vessel.
‘We would need to get a warrant to search the boat,’ Derima added. ‘We would need to show the court that we had probable cause to search the boat, as this is not yet a criminal case. We thought we could just ask Mr. Bane to search the boat and he would say yes and he didn’t.
‘That is his right. Getting the search warrant would be the next step.’
