Almansoori is held without bond at the Maricopa County jail on charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault and theft in connection with the Surprise incident

A man arrested in Surprise, Arizona on Monday, has been identified as a person of interest in the brutal killing of a mother inside a New York City hotel room earlier this month.Â

NYPD detectives are now looking to question him over the death of Denisse Oleas-Arancibia, 38, who was found dead inside SoHo 54 hotel on the morning of Thursday February 8.

When staff discovered her body on the 10.30 am, the hotel guest who checked in the day before was lying beneath a blanket, beside a bloody broken iron.
Police say that a pair of blood-splattered men’s pants were found alongside Oleas-Arancibia’s body, with cops revealing the suspect was caught on camera fleeing the scene wearing her leggings.Â

Almansoori was taken into custody after police say he stabbed a woman at a fast food restaurant in the city of Surprise.
Phoenix police responding after an assault at a McDonald’s restaurant found a woman with multiple stab wounds. Police say that Almansoori was arrested shortly after he tried to flee in a stolen car.
The suspect admitted while in custody to an earlier stabbing a few days prior on Phoenix. In that incident, a woman was stabbed when a man attempted to steal her car at knifepoint.
Almansoori was booked into the Maricopa County jail on charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault and theft in connection with the Surprise incident.
He was also charged with robbery, assault, theft and criminal damage in the separate Phoenix investigation. He is being held without bond.Â
While in custody, Almansoori is also said to have told officers about attacks in Florida and the one in New York City.Â

Police said last week that they had been using ‘extensive video’ to track down the person of interest in the February 8 murder of Denisse Oleas-Arancibia.Â
Oleas-Arancibi, sources later revealed, was a sex worker, having been spotted days before her death on the streets of Roosevelt Avenue in Queens. The city medical examiner’s office said she died of compression to her neck and blunt head trauma.
Found with significant head trauma, she was unconscious and unresponsive when cops arrived on scene. She was pronounced dead by EMS.
The body was found when wellness calls were made to the front desk for her, throughout the evening, prompting the outreach by staff.Â
It is further reported that one hotel staff did walk into her room, despite a ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign on the handle, and left after seeing her on the floor under a blanket.Â

The Ecuadorian native came to the United States five years ago, leaving behind family including one of her children.
Among the kids who crossed the border with her is 18-year-old Edwin Cevallos who he had been living with his mother and her nephew in an Queens apartment, and spoke to his mother one day before her death.
Interviewed by local media after her death, Cevallos said he saw changes in his mother’s demeanor a week before the tragedy. ‘She was so nervous and she was worried,’ he said.
Waiting to meet his mom Thursday morning, he phoned the police when he still didn’t see her at 1 pm,
While the teen conceded that he didn’t know his mother’s occupation, he said she was ‘always working for us to give us the best life in this country.’
I am ‘in shock,’ he says. ‘Everything here in New York reminds me of her. Everything.’
‘My mom, she worked very hard,’ said Cevallos who joined her in the US two years ago.

His mother as ‘a very good person’ who was ‘always helping people’ and ‘never hurt anybody,’ the teenager said.
‘She was always paying for everything. She never owed money to anybody. She was always looking to help them move forward,’ the teen said.
His mother had worked tirelessly to achieve the American Dream and provide a better life for her children: ‘She gave us the life that we always wanted,’ Cevallos said.
