      A billionaire heir cheated on his wife with the family’s nanny and demanded a divorce on Christmas Day, according to new documents filed at the Albemarle County Circuit Court in Charlottesville, Virginia.
      The court papers allege that wealthy Virginia businessman Peter Goodwin, 40, was unfaithful to his clinical psychologist wife, Cara Goodwin, 40, with whom he shares four children after 11 years of marriage.
      The husband whose father, billionaire William Goodwin, co-founded the AMF Bowling chain, not only cheated on his wife with the family’s nanny, he then demanded a divorce on Christmas Day, Cara alleges in her response to the divorce he filed.
      The documents state that while she looked after their children, Peter lived fast and loose, wining and dining their ex-nanny, Annette Lombard. He then sparked the divorce with a hysterical Christmas Day outburst.

      Cara said that she “sat in front of him holding their four-month-old daughter” as he swore they were done and fled, screaming obscenities, while the couple’s other three youngsters watched. She further alleges that within the week, her husband and their former nanny 27-year-old Annette Lombard were ensconced at the lux Four Seasons Hotel in Surfside, Florida.
      Over the next few months she said, the pair traveled around the country engaging in “adulterous acts” – everywhere from Jackson Hole, Wyoming, to Florida’s Palm Beach,.

      Annette Lombard, the ‘other woman’ cited in the divorce filings, began working for the couple as a 21-year-old University of Virginia student in 2019.
      Lombard who lived in the couple’s home for a year from the spring of 2020, as an au pair during the pandemic, became so close to the children that they referred to her as their sister, the filing says.
      That same year, Peter Goodman hired Lombard to also work for him at his office. The former nanny has since been promoted to the position of a vice-president at Goodman’s company.
      Cara’s court filing claims that within months of Lombard moving into their home, she had gone to Peter with “growing concerns” about his relationship with the nanny. However Peter “dismissed”, those concerns.

      The documents further alleges that despite the wife’s concerns, over the next few months, the married father and the au pair traveled around the country engaging in “adulterous acts” everywhere.
      Meanwhile amidst her husband’s alleged philandering, Cara gave birth to the couple’s fourth child in August 2023.
      The very next month Cara claimed, Peter raised a “strong desire” for more independence to “focus on his own self-care”.

      Cara, a PhD holder and founder of the brand Parenting Translator, wedded bowling billionaire heir Peter Goodwin who has multiple other businesses, in 2014 with a prenup in place.
      In January 2025 Peter Goodwin who in his response to Cara’s allegations admitted to the affair with Lombard, filed for divorce.
      According to public records, they couple founded the Peter and Cara Goodwin Foundation.
      Cara is seeking half of their marital assets, including those from their companies. She is also fighting for child support as well as $500,000 to cover lawyers fees and the hiring of experts.
      The pair reached an agreement in February 2024 to share custody of their children. In July Peter filed a motion to seal the divorce case, which Cara team is opposing.
