NYC man, Tyquane Jemmott, 33, arrested in fatal early morning stabbing where the ambushed victim with her last breath, identified her ex as the assailant

The assailant stabbed Rodriguez multiple times in the front and back of her body, neck, arm and face
Under attack, she rang the buzzer of the building and was able to contact her family, her dad ran down and was able to hear his daughter’s final words
Henry Rodriguez heard his daughter mention, ex-boyfriend Tyquane Jemmott, 33, the pair broke up a week prior, after a two-year relationship
The relationship was described as rocky with a record of two previous cases of domestic violence
Jemmott was arrested and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon in connection to the fatal stabbing

Shirley Rodriguez was waiting for a Uber to take her to work on Monday morning when she was attacked outside her family’s apartment building in Manhattan.
As her slashed at her the 29-year-old managed to ring the buzzer of the building, contact her family for help and used her dying breath to reveal the name of the assailant. Henry Rodriguez, ran down and was able to hear his daughter’s final words, reported PIX11.
‘She was fighting back the whole time. As she’s dying, she tells him [Henry], “Ty did this,”‘ NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny said.

The attack, which lasted a minute was caught on video, as Rodriguez was stabbed multiple times in the front, back, neck, arm and face, punched and dragged, leaving a trail of blood along the building and a parked car
Shirley was referring to her ex-boyfriend, Tyquane Jemmott, 33, whom she had broken up with the previous week. The pair’s two-years relationship, according to the victim’s sister, was rocky.
Police said Jemmott waited between two cars outside of the apartment, timing her departure for work before the ambush. A local resident on her way to work reported spotting a man dressed in black hiding behind a car
Rodriguez was stabbed multiple times in the front and back of the body, neck, arm and face.
The black clad attacker dragged his victim down the street as she screamed for help before fleeing into the nearby park.
The brutal attack, which was caught on video, lasted one minute, and Shirley was slashed, punched and dragged, leaving a trail of blood along the building and parked car.
‘She was calling for help. She said, “Dad, dad, hurry. Come downstairs,”‘ Henry told The New York Daily News.
‘So I threw something on, and I went downstairs with a kitchen knife because obviously something was up. I ran down the stairs, and it was just a bloody scene. And my daughter was standing there with a big gash on her face.’
‘My instinct was to chase him, but I couldn’t leave her by herself. She was bleeding. He was gone. Somebody else chased him,’ he said.

A man living in the building opposite came down after hearing screams to witness saw the attacker dragging the victim down the street while stabbing her and leaving a trail of blood on the building and parked vehicles. Another local on her way to work saw a man dressed in black hiding behind a car

The former couple had two prior domestic disputes on record. Shirley’s sister, Tibby, said she was not surprised to hear her sister say it was Jemmott and that the couple’s relationship was rocky.
‘He wouldn’t give her her space and he didn’t respect those boundaries she was setting.
‘One of her last straws was when she posted a baby picture on her Instagram story and he accused her of having a new follower. And she got fed up and blocked him. Then he started texting her. He would keep track.’
Tyquane Jemmott who has one prior arrest for criminal mischief, was arrested at his uncle’s house in the Bronx and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon in connection to the fatal stabbing.
