American missionary’s wife ‘who took out a $50,000 hit on husband after starting an affair with her Angolan security guard’ charged with murder

Authorities in Angola have charged an American missionary wife for taking out a hit on her husband after starting an extra-marital affair with one the security guards at the family residence in Mapunda, Angola. The couple had moved the the central African nation a few years earlier to serve as missionaries.  
Jacklyn ‘Jackie’ Shroyer, 44, is accused of masterminding Beau Shroyer’s assassination after allegedly embarking on an affair with one of their security guards at their high rise condo complex.
The couple who had been married for 20 years had been in Angola for three years having moved from their native Minnesota to Angola with their five children in 2021. Beau, 44, was killed on October 25 last year, after he was lured into a remote area by three men who stabbed him to death, police said.
The authorities believe Jackie, who was arrested four days after the murder, paid three men the equivalent of $50,000 to kill her husband. Two have been arrested, while a third remains on the loose.

Jackie was having an affair with one of the hit men, Bernadino Elias, 24, who worked at the family’s home in Mapunda as a security guard, according to officials.
News of the charges were confirmed by the lead pastor of Beau’s hometown church  Lakes Area Vineyard Church in Detroit Lakes.
The development ‘saddens me immensely’, pastor Troy Easton said. Jackie reportedly, will remain in custody until her trial before a judge, which is expected to take place in the next six months.

The couple’s children will continue to be cared for by other family with support from SIM USA, the missionary organization Beau worked with, as well as the church. 
Beau’s murder sent shockwaves through the church when it was reported near the end of last year.
Initially, it was reported that the father-of-five had been killed in a, ‘violent, criminal attack’.
Then a narrative quickly emerged which suggested that Jackie was upset about leaving Angola when Criminal Investigation Service [CIS], in Angola believe Jackie had Beau killed because she did not want to leave Angola when his mission work finished.. 
Local investigations quickly uncovered the lead that the widow apparently, had been having an extra-marital affair with one of their security guards. She promised to pay the three men $50,000 to kill Beau Shroyer, authorities in Angola allege.

Police said  three men lured Beau to a remote area in Huila in the south of Angola by pretending they were having issues with a rented car and stabbed him to death.
Detectives reportedly recovered an American-made knife that had been gifted to Elias at the crime scene in Humpata.
Four days after the body was found, Jackie Shroyer was arrested. Bernadino Elias and alleged co-conspirator Isalino Kayoo, 23, were also arrested, while third suspect, Gelson Ramos, 22, is still on the run.
The three men involved all have criminal histories that include armed robbery and kidnapping, according to Angola’s Criminal Investigation Service.

Beau had previously worked as a police officer, joining the Detroit Lakes Police Department in 2013, before becoming a real estate agent, according to the Detroit Lakes Tribune.
He eventually changed careers again to become a pastor, and in 2021, he and his wife, Jackie, became missionaries.
They were among the first families to move to Angola after the pandemic lockdown eased.

Beau’s body was flown back to the US on December 14. Burial was December 21.
