Michigan knifeman, 42, to be charged with terrorism and assault with intent to murder, after stabbing 11 people inside a Walmart store

Victims were transported where one was treated and released, two were listed in serious condition, while the others were said to be in fair condition

Bradford James Gille, the knifeman who stabbed 11 people inside a Michigan Walmart on Saturday afternoon will face charges of terrorism and 11 counts of assault with intent to murder, the Grand Traverse county prosecutor has revealed.
Grand Traverse County prosecutor Noelle Moeggenberg told reporters that the terrorism charge will be brought due to the fact that investigators believe 42-year-old Gille intended to ‘affect the entire community, to instill fear in the entire community, and to change how maybe we operate on a daily basis.’
The stabbing rampage happened at the Walmart in Traverse City on Saturday, July 26.
According to the police report, Gille entered the store during a calm shopping afternoon and randomly stabbed the victims with a folding pocket knife.
Minutes after the attack, the knife man was in custody with the help of bystanders who confronted him outside the store.

Bradford James Gille is Michigan resident, who has been described by locals as a is a self proclaimed born-again Christian who has authored books, portraying himself as God.
Prosecutor Moeggenberg called the attack ‘a very random act of violence’ by the suspect, who remains in custody at the Grand Traverse County Jail with his court arraignment scheduled for early next week.
One local says Gille
Some weekend shoppers forced Gille to drop his weapon after went on a stabbing spree near the checkout counter of the supermarket. Within minutes the knife-wielding man was surrounded by shoppers in the parking lot, including one who was holding a gun, ordering him to drop his weapon.
‘Get on the ground!’ one of the men is heard shouting. Other members of the group surrounding the assailant echoed ‘Drop the knife! Drop it!’.

The group of five or six people kept yelling at Gille ‘drop the knife’.
A man is continuously yelled ‘Throw the knife that way! Throw it away!’
According to the police report, Gille replied ‘I don’t care, I don’t care,’ as he kept backing away from the crowd, before someone tackled and subdued him.
Calls began coming in to authorities at 4:43pm on Saturday and a sheriff’s deputy arrived at 4:46pm.
‘I cannot commend everyone that was involved enough. When you stop and look from the time of call to the time of actual custody, the individual was detained within one minute,’ Sheriff Mike Shea said at Sunday’s press conference.
‘That is remarkable. When you look at it in that mitigated Lord knows how many additional victims.’
Shea said the 11 victims were both men and women and they ranged in age from 29 to 84. One victim was a Walmart employee.

According to Dr. Tom Schermerhorn, Chief Medical Officer at Munson Medical Center, who was speaking at a press conference on Sunday, two victims arrived in serious condition, eight were listed in fair condition, while one victim was treated and released.
Walmart said in a statement Saturday that it would continue to work closely with law enforcement in the investigation.

Traverse City is a popular vacation spot on the coast of Lake Michigan. It is known for its cherry festival, wineries and lighthouses and is about 25 miles east of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said: ‘Our thoughts are with the victims and the community reeling from this brutal act of violence.’ while FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino in a social media post revealed that that bureau would ‘provide any necessary support’ to authorities in Michigan.
