The student bragged that he had a threesome with his teachers, Shelley Dufresne [left], and Rachel Respess
Prosecutors had accused former teacher Shelley Dufresne, 34, of having a month-long affair with a 16-year-old student in her English class at the school in Kenner, Louisiana.
The male student, now 19, testified that he his tryst with Dufresne began when she messaged him on Facebook in August 2014.
He claimed the pair had sex on multiple occasions, including an illicit romp with another former Destrehan High School teacher, 26-year-old Rachel Respess.
“All three of us were in bed together,” the teen testified. “We all started having sex.”
The teen, now 19, in court testified about the alleged threesome he had with the two teachers in September 2014.
He said: “Then I remember Dufresne and Respess were kissing, they had given each other oral sex, then I proceeded to have sex with Shelley and that was it.”
Defence attorneys argued that the boy did not have a sexual encounter with both teachers because he was not able to get an erection.
“She [Dufresne] offered to buy me a pill to help me get an erection while she was getting cigarettes,” the teen testified.
The young football star reportedly filmed himself placing his “private parts” on the face of Respess, while she was passed out from drinking.
The judge’s decision comes after a two-day trial in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. For the trial, the former teacher waived her right to a jury.
The former student testified in court about the alleged threesome with two of his female high school teachers in Louisiana. he also admitted that after the steamy romp, he secretly recorded one of Rachel Respass [photo, left], sleeping after sex as “proof” to show to his fellow football players.
The unidentified student, now 19, detailed the relationship he had with former Destrehan High School teacher Shelly Dufresne that began when he was a 16-year-old student in her English class. The month-long affair the mother-of-three began with a Facebook message from Dufresne after the teen was out sick one day in August 2014, he testified, and quickly progressed to the student and teacher kissing in a classroom within days. Later that night, the lad claimed the and Dufresne had intercourse for the first time.
The English teacher was left facing a possible sentence of 10 years and up to $5,000 in fines, if convicted.
Handing the ruling Wednesday, Judge Danyelle Taylor, of the 24th Judicial District Court, found Dufresne not guilty of two counts of carnal knowledge of a juvenile, citing the lack of investigation by Jefferson Parish authorities and an untrustworthy main witness, the teen at the center of the case.
While judge Taylor felt it was likely that something had occurred, prosecutors did not prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt, she indicated.
Shelley Dufresne and her attorney, Jim Williams walking into Jefferson Parish district court Tuesday to stand trial on the two counts of carnal knowledge of a juvenile
Shelley Dufresne is accused of having sex in Jefferson Parish with her then-16-year-old student, and has pleaded not guilty.
“I do not believe that the threshold has been met by the evidence presented to this court,” she said later noting the teen’s “braggadocios nature” and his “propensity to lie” created reasonable doubt.
Judge Taylor heard the case because Shelley Dufresne had waived her right to a jury trial.
Attacking the character of the main prosecution witness, defense attorneys contended that the teen committed a crime himself by recording himself touching co-defendant Respess as she slept and later showing that video to his teammates. They also accused the teen of not being truthful about his relationship with Dufresne, questioning the exact date that their sexual relationship began and arguing that the dates and locations provided by authorities were incorrect.
Defense attorney Kim McElwee claimed that the alleged threesome didn’t even occur because the teen told authorities he “couldn’t get an erection,” a claim the teen denied while on the stand, the newspaper reports.
The prosecution’s case was further weakened because investigators were unable to recover the alleged video of Respess sleeping because the teen admitted deleting it, as well as other photos and text messages. He did so, according to McElwee, because he knew what he did was illegal.
“You know it’s a crime to video someone without their permission?” she asked.
Earlier the defense suggested that the teen threatened to expose their relationship after she corrected him in class one day.
“At any moment, I can expose this, and you can go to jail, and you’ll lose your life as you know it,” McElwee claimed the teen threatened.
And the lewd video of Respess,, was an act of revenge for a problem he had in her class a year earlier, McElwee said: “He told the cop he got payback”.
Dufresne had already pled guilty to a lesser charge of obscenity in St. Charles Parish, where she and the student lived.
Amazing simply amazing!
Poor little boy! ROFL! What I would have done to have teachers like that! I’m sure I would be irepairibly harmed.
How lucky. I wish it had been me. Why didn’t any girls or women find me attractive in my youth?
