Lt. Todd Ojile said the suspect was arrested after a security guard at the Wichita Country Club reported a suspiciouPOlics person with blood on him who was sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot. Officers were called shortly after 7 pm to a stabbing at Holistic Psychiatric Services on Carriage Parkway, near Central and Edgemoor.
Psychiatrist Achutha Reddy was found with multiple knife wounds near his Holistic Psychiatric Services in Wichita just before 7:30 p.m. He was pronounced dead on the scene, KAKE reported.

Later that night, authorities arrested one of his patients, Umar Rashid Dutt, after a security guard at the Wichita Country Club reported a suspicious person sitting in his vehicle with blood on him, Lt. Todd Ojile told KAKE.
Dutt was booked early Thursday morning for first-degree murder.
He is being held in jail on a $1 million bond
The office manager at the practice told investigators she heard a disturbance and saw a man assaulting Reddy.
She intervened she said, giving the doctor an opportunity to escape. The assailant suspect however followed Reddy into an alley outside the building, where he allegedly stabbed him numerous times, police said.
Those who knew Dutt told KWCH that while he was “kind and very quiet,” he seemed to be involved with the “wrong company.”
His high school teacher Ryan Schrader said the suspect had differences with his parents and recalled conversations about sending him to India to “get him on a better path.” behind his holistic practice.

According to the Wichita Eagle, the victim, Dr. Reddy who is originally from Nalgonda in Telangana, graduated from medical school in Osmania, India in 1986 before completing his internship at St. Louis University in 1994 and residency at the Kansas University School of Medicine-Wichita in 1998.
He opened his own practice in 2003 and most recently was working as a psychiatrist at the Holistic Psychiatric Services, a clinic that provides holistic mental health.
Members of the local medical community mourned his loss this week, saying he will be greatly missed in the Wichita area.
“The Medical Society is heartbroken over the loss of Dr. Reddy,” Denis Knight, the president of the organization, said in a statement. “He had been a member of MSSC since 2000, and his wife Breena Reddy, is also a member. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her. Dr. Reddy is a tragic loss to our community,” The Kansas Medical society said in a release.
