Lesego “Lee” Legobne’s sharp jab totally deflated ‘mouthy’ blogger’s attempt at derision of her full figure – a clap-back applauded ’round the Twittersphere’
The South African model’s comment is now the clap-back heard ’round the Twittersphere.
Plus-size model and blogger image was used in a meme created by another Twitter user that depicted her in a negative, body-shaming way on Tuesday and her quick, direct response has rocketed her to social media stardom
The South African model replied, simply, “I don’t like you,” a retort that’s racked up over 950,000 likes and counting, including from prominent women like Ariana Grande, Ava DuVernay and Nicki Minaj.
“I’m overwhelmed by the love from people from all over the world, it’s (so) sweet!” Legobane told HuffPost. “I’ve been getting DMs from women thanking me for embracing my body and loving myself. This is why body positivity on a public platform is so important, because others (are) able to draw inspiration from me and I appreciate that. (It) means a lot to me that I can change someone’s perception about their physical appearance by loving my own.”
“I hate it when men think that fat girls are desperate and that we like every other guy cos (sic) ‘we don’t have options,'” she wrote. “Check yourself.”
“It’s utter nonsense,” the model told HuffPost. “I can be fat and still be out of your league.”
