A 19-year-old Colorado man allegedly stabbed his stepfather to death last week Friday and recorded a Snapchat video of the aftermath.
Nickolas Khalil Vinson is facing a first-degree murder charge after police say he stabbed 50-year-old Oscar Lemar Owensby to death last week at their Aurora home and took cell phone video of the aftermath.
Police responded to a report of a stabbing and arrested Vinson, who faces a first-degree murder charge in connection to the death.
Police say he lashed out and stabbed him multiple times with a seven-inch blade that had a brass-knuckle-like handle. Owensby, who worked at a local family sports bar, suffered stab wounds to the back, neck and shoulder.
Vinson admitted to stabbing his stepfather, Oscar Owensby an arrest affidavit shows, the Aurora Sentinel reported. He initially fled a home in the 2700 block of South Rifle Street but returned after police called him.

Vinson told police the pair had exchanged heated text messages about Vinson’s contribution to the household. Owensby reportedly wanted Vinson to do more around the house and also chip in financially.
Vinson said he expected Owensby to hit him that night, so he grabbed a large knife, and stabbed Owensby in the neck. He then stabbed him repeatedly, the Aurora Sentinel reported.
According to police records, Oscar Lemar Owensby [photo], was stabbed to death by his teenage stepson Nick Dec 15. The teen lashed out after he asked him to do the chores and contribute to household expenses. He had been raising the 19-year-old from age five.
Vinson’s mother Celena, and Lemar Owensby had been together 14 years, and the teen had lived with them all through
Police said Vinson then recorded Owensby lying on the ground as he bled, with Vinson’s mother crouching next to him, screaming.
Vinson can be heard saying: “I killed him” in the Snapchat video, police said.
Vinson is being held without bond at the Arapahoe County Jail on a first-degree murder charge. He is due in court Friday.
