Haynes is accused of grooming the young girl for sex and encouraged her to sleep with other ministers Pastor Cordell Jenkins and Kenneth Butler. Those two pastors have pleaded guilty to sleeping with the minor and are awaiting sentencing.

Haynes made a pledge in front of his Greater Life Christian Center congregation that he would protect the victim and be her father figure after she was neglected by her biological mother when she was 14.
Prosecutors say the girl had a difficult childhood and was sexually abused by a relative, before he stepped in.
He let her live with his family in 2014 but he weeks later began to groom her for sex, according to U.S. attorney Michael Freeman.
He made her watch as sex acts were performed in front of her then had her have sex with him. They would go on to have sex at his church and at a motel until she was 17, prosecutors say.
‘At the place of worship, when she’s 14 years old, he had sex with her,’ the federal prosecutor said.
After about a year, Haynes then introduced the minor to pastor Kenneth Butler and he began to have sex with her. Then she was introduced to minister Cordell Jenkins, who founded his own church in Toledo, that was closed following his arrest.

Haynes’ wife Alisa Haynes and stepdaughter Alexis Fortune, have also been charged with witness tampering. They’re accused of abducting the complainant at gunpoint in January and warned her not to testify at trial.
In addition to the charges against the men, Haynes’ wife Alisa Haynes and stepdaughter Alexis Fortune, have also been accused of trying to get the victim to not testify against the pastor. They allegedly abducted her at gunpoint in January and warned her not to testify at trial.

Court documents say that Jenkins had sex with two girls at his home, church office and a motel and often recorded the acts with his phone. Haynes allegedly encouraged the relationship with Jenkins.
The victim is expected to testify in court.
Her school counselor Callie Haas noted that the victim changed in personality at school, going from an outgoing student ambassador who used to give school tours to someone who seemed ‘numb’, according to the Toledo Blade.
The girl later disclosed to Haas that she had been performing sex acts with pastors for years and ‘felt like she was ruining church families as well as the pastor’s family,’ the counselor testified.
Haas reported the incident to the school resource officer who reported it to Toledo Police and the FBI.
A search warrant was executed on April 7, 2017 and Haynes’ home was investigated and Haynes himself was found hiding in a crawl space under the stairs.

Investigators revealed Monday they found evidence of semen linked to each pastor found in their homes and churches.
In addition to the charges against the men, Haynes’ wife Alisa Haynes and stepdaughter Alexis Fortune, have also been accused of abducting the victim at gunpoint in January, threatening her not to testify at trial.
They nabbed her from her apartment, choked her with a cord and told her to take back statements she had made to investigators.
