A young Georgia mom has accused a doctor of decapitating her baby during delivery and then propping his head onto his body to conceal what they’d done.
The young mother, 20-year-old Jessica Ross and her partner Treveon Isaiah Taylor Sr., are suing Dr. Tracey St. Julian and the hospital -Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, Georgia – where Ross lost her baby son, Treveon Isaiah Taylor Jr., during delivery on July 9.
The baby boy’s shoulders got stuck during a vaginal delivery which began 8.40pm, according to the suit. In the lawsuit, Dr St. Julian of Premier Women’s Gyn, a gynecological practice based in Fayette County, is accused of delaying a C-section procedure and failing to seek help quickly. Instead, she applied ‘ridiculously excessive force’ on the baby’s head and neck to try to deliver it while Ross was still awake, claims attorney and physician Roderick Edmond.

She works with the Premier Women’s Gyn, a gynecological practice based in Fayette County, Georgia.
It is alleged that the baby’s body and legs were delivered by C-section three-and-a-half hours later at 12.11am, and his head was delivered vaginally.
When Ross and Taylor demanded to see and hold their child, they claim the baby was tightly wrapped in a blanket with his head ‘propped on top of his body’ to make it appear like it was still attached. They ultimately found out about the decapitation from the funeral home, according to the suit.
The lawsuit further claims that Dr. St. Julian did not the baby’s mother and her family about the decapitation when she spoke to them at approximately 5 a.m. on July 10.
St. Julian is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist who has been practicing in the Atlanta area since January 2005, the website says. She is a member of Premier Women’s OB/GYN which has two locations and offers circumcisions, infertility treatment and other services in addition to low- and high-risk obstetric care, according to their website.
The grieving couple has accused the co-respondent, Southern Regional Medical Center, of trying to cover up what happened by discouraging them from getting an autopsy and encouraging them to have their son cremated.
‘They were so excited about the birth of their first child,’ said attorney Cory Lynch.
‘Unfortunately, their dreams and hopes turned into a nightmare that was covered up by Southern Regional Medical Center,’ Edmond.

The suit is asking for Ross and Taylor to be compensated for the suffering and death of their baby boy and the ‘tremendous mental and physical anguish and trauma’ experienced by Ross.
Edmond claims that by the time Ross was taken in for a C-section, a fetal monitor had stopped registering a heartbeat.
The couple had asked for a C-section earlier, when they believe the baby could still have survived, but were denied, Edmond said.
Along with Dr. St. Julian and Premier Women’s OB/GYN, LLC, a health care group that the board certified Obstetrician belongs to, as well as several nurses at the hospital are also accused of gross negligence in the couple’s suit, as the couple claims they did not follow proper procedures once they knew the baby’s shoulders had become stuck.
Southern Regional said in statements it could not discuss treatment for particular patients due to privacy laws, but it denies the allegations against it.
Its ‘heartfelt thoughts and prayers’ were with Ross and Taylor and their care providers, it said.
‘Our commitment is to provide compassionate, quality care to every single patient, and this loss is heartbreaking,’ the hospital said.
Releasing an addendum, the hospital said Dr St. Julian was not an employee of the hospital, and it had ‘taken the appropriate steps in response to this unfortunate situation.’

Their attorneys announced the lawsuit against Dr. Tracey St. Julian that Southern Regional Medical Center, a hospital in Riverdale, Georgia, covered up the ‘nightmare’ childbirth that led to the decapitation of of the couple’s infant son on July 9
‘They were so excited about the birth of their first child,’ said attorney Cory Lynch. ‘Unfortunately, their dreams and hopes turned into a nightmare that was covered up by Southern Regional Medical Center’.
He said the case highlighted the higher rates of infant and maternal mortality for black women.
Ross and Taylor did not speak at Wednesday’s news conference, but their lawsuit alleges gross negligence, fraud and intentional infliction of emotional distress on the part of the defendants. It seeks unspecified punitive damages.
