A gunman opened fire on migrants housed at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Dallas, Texas, Wednesday morning.
The shooterr has been identified as Joshua Jahn, 29,
The ‘act of targeted violence’ as described by ICE, unfolded at the ICE Detention Center shortly after 7am CT. The shooter perched on a nearby roof top fired multiple shots at the Center’s sally port [entry port].
Three people were shot and two of the victims are dead, one of them died at the scene. Two people had been transported to hospital with gunshot wounds.
Jahn, who police sources described as a Caucasian male, shot himself dead as law enforcement agents closed in on him.

Officials said the gunman opened fire ‘from an elevated position’ and is believed to have been perched on the roof of a nearby immigration attorney’s office.
The shooting occurred according to local media, during the loading or unloading of a bus of detainees. 
The identities of the sniper and victims have not been released and investigators were still probing a possible motive, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said. 
The victims were ICE detainees, and no law enforcement were injured in the shooting. ‘

The ICE facility in Northwest Dallas has been frequently targeted by pro-immigration demonstrators in recent months. 
Last month, a suspect identified as Bratton Dean Wilkinson, 36, was arrested and charged with making terroristic threats, after he made a bomb threat against the same immigration processing center. 
Wilkinson allegedly arrived at the entrance on August 25, claiming to have a bomb in his backpack. He also showed a ‘detonator’ on his wrist.

The ICE facility is along Interstate 35 East, just southwest of Dallas Love Field, a large commercial airport serving the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area, a few blocks from hotels catering to airport users.
Traffic cameras near the scene captured the image of six lanes of a normally busy freeway empty at rush hour, with traffic ground to a halt on an interstate exit.
