Victor Velmo ft. Jaywon – ‘Turn On The Light’
Victor Velmo releases the video of his Jaywon assisted song of ‘turn on the light’. I tried very hard to figure out which was worse, the singing, the rhyming or the disconnected 70’s disco effects on the track

Sifter ‘Chop Am‘

‘Chop Am‘ is a fuji fusion track by American based Nigerian artiste Sifter, signed on Bugatti Records. High energy but, lacks the essence of fuji authenticity in beatz and delivery, may be because of it’s tecno bias. A lot of riffs but little in terms of rhythm.
Really good video. Cracks you up as you watch the lovable rogue ‘area’ boy con his way through scenarios. It was shot in Lagos and directed by Unlimited LA.

Dotman Ft Olamide – ‘Olamide‘

Dotman feature maestro Olamide on his afrobeat track ‘Yes Melo‘ remix and the creativity and ‘Street’ blend is evident in both audio and visual. I love the high energy Olamide introduces the mix. Dotman is no slouch either. From the intro you are dancing till the end. Good beatz , this. Nice video shot by Clarence Peters.

Burna Boy – ‘Work’ (Rihanna Cover)
Burna Boy puts out some great beatz here. Incredible, driven bazz and key boards on his cover of Rihanna‘s ‘Work‘ . He extends thework and actually adds some street to it. Nice one dude. Guys download and enjoy. The video is struggling to match the quality though.

Nigerian artistes Skales and Young D release a hot club banger ‘Gum Body’, featuring South African R&B artiste Da L.E.S. It borrows the hook liberally from Orezi‘s ‘Superu‘. Good work.

Sean Tizzle – ‘Jalolo‘

In ‘Jalolo‘, Sean Tizzle creates a masterful fusion of fuji, juju and highlife blended with the right touch of afrobeat to make it contemporaneous. Lovely song.

Pinky Jay ft. Solidstar – ‘Badman’ (Remix)
Pinky Jay may be based in South Africa but her West coast vibe is unmistakable. In ‘Badman remix’ which features Nigerian singer, Solidstar. You can feel the chemistry between Pinky and Solid as the voices duel in this uptempo afropop tune driven by the percussion and bass.
Top drawer‘Badman’ was produced by the E-Kelly.
The video was directed by MR PEPPEREST and shot in Jo’burg for Victorist Media
