Investigations revealed that the Los Angeles based urgent and emergency care doctor, who also treated drug and alcohol addiction, had been involved in years of multiple bitter legal battles with his ex-wife, Aheng Zarin Kelk.
The almost two decades-long battle had degenerated to the point where Mirshojae even accused Kelk, 54, of threatening to kill him.
After the father-of-four was shot dead from point-blank range in broad daylight outside his Woodland Hills clinic at 5:30pm on August 23, it was revealed that the doctor had been the victim of a beating that saw a gang of men set upon him with baseball bats just months earlier.

His second wife and their six-month-old baby were way in Turkey at the time of the murder, with Los Angeles police saying they are yet to identify a suspect but are looking into all aspects of Mirshojae’s life in a bid to find the culprit.
One fact stands out – while his second marriage appears to be happy, the fallout from the first has been the polar opposite, degenerating into a torturous series of legal fights, with Mirshojae accusing his ex-wife, Kelk, of pursuing a ‘vendetta’ against him.
The doctor alleged that Kelk had made death threats against him.

The odyssey of legal wrangling between the former couple kicked off in 2009 when the couple divorced. It has since escalated. Two lawsuits on fraud, a civil harassment battle, four applications for restraining orders add to repeated reopening of their divorce case – most recently in January.
Both Kelk and Mirshojae have at different times obtained restraining orders against each other.
The doctor complained in a 2017 application that one order awarded to his former wife evicted him from the $6million six-bedroom Calabasas home they shared as a couple.
Kelk still lives in the home.

The litany of suits continued in May, when Dr. Mirshojae sued his Kelk for fraud.
He accused her of transferring her assets to her mother and other family members, obscuring ownership in a bid to stop his collecting on a cash settlement, he had been awarded in previous trials.
The pair were due to face off again Friday in a hearing about the fraud case which is a dispute about her alleged failure to pay the $270,000 settlement he was awarded from a 2021 case where he lodged the initial allegation of fraud against Kelk.
He also claimed that she was operating an illegal marijuana dispensary out of a building in which they both had interests.
An application by Mirshojae for a further $600,000 in attorney fees is pending after the doctor accused his ex-wife of breaching a settlement the former couple reached in 2017, and while Kelk was criminally prosecuted over the dispensary in 2022, those charges were dismissed.

The 2021 case details how the former couple’s relationship dramatically declined after Mirshojae fired her from his medical practice in 2016.
According to the complaint, Kelk vowed to wreck his business following her firing as office manager after she allegedly embezzled more than $600,000 from the surgery.
While a judge ordered in Mirshojae’s favor, the current case is over Kelk’s alleged failure to pay up.
Kelk has also repeatedly reopened their divorce case, with the extreme nature of the ex-couple’s legal war resulting in Judge Steve Cochran’s weary declaration that ‘the cost of this litigation became unreasonable long ago’ in February.
On that occasion, Kelk asked for support payments for their youngest son Jason, 21, despite him being an adult; claiming he is unable to work.

In the divorce petition, Mirshojae said the split was ‘due to physical violence’. He accused Kelk of punching him repeatedly. However, in this SM post, Kelk appears to be mourning the untimely death of her ex, while announcing plans to hold a public memorial service in his honor, outside the Woodland Hills clinic

Despite their ongoing fight, Kelk appeared to be devastated by his death on social media and said she plans to hold a public memorial service in his honor on Sunday, outside the Woodland Hills clinic where he was shot dead.
She added: ‘Hamid, the kids and I are in shock. We miss you so bad.’
Her warm words strike a very different note to the wads of court filings that have piled up between them over the years, with the pair battling it out over money, her behavior and the use of commercial property both had interests in.
As they prepared for the divorce in 2009, Mirshojae applied for a restraining order against Kelk, in a bid to keep her away from the upmarket home they shared.
In the divorce petition Mirshojae cites ‘physical violence’ as the reason for the split, accusing Kelk of punching him repeatedly.

The former couple’s legal battle had escalated to include two separate lawsuits base on fraud, a civil harassment battle, and four applications for restraining orders. The doctor also applied for a domestic violence restraining order in 2017

In the a never ending cycle of legal fights, Mirshojae sued his ex-wife for fraud in May, alleging she had transferred her assets to her mother and other family members in a bid to hide them from him

Eight years later, Mirshojae returned to court seeking another restraining order, based on Kelk’s out of control behavior.
According to Mirshojae, angry Kelk showed up at his clinic in December 2016 where, he claimed, she proceeded to physically assault him.
Her former fiancé, Allen Yadegar, then 45, was also there for the altercation and, according to the papers, claimed to have a weapon and threatened that d ‘he was going to kill’ Mirshojae.
Yadegar was also named in some of the lawsuits, including two of the three restraining orders.
In one 2017 Mirshojae and Yadegar both took out protective orders out against each other.
The legal battles also affected the pair’s relationship with their three children.
In 2017, their eldest son Nick, in 2017 also obtained a restraining order keeping out his mother and her fiancé.

Mirshojae accused his ex-wife of breaking into the clinic in January 2017, impersonated him to access the business’s Wells Fargo checking accounts from which she appropriated $50,000 to pay off her personal credit cards.
He also accused her of taking two company cars worth more than $200,000 and of destroying a third car by removing the coolant and then driving it at top speed – causing more than $14,000-worth of damage.
Furthermore, that she stole his personal SUV and when he attempted to retrieve it, she called police claiming he possessed a handgun and had threatened to shoot her.
On the other side of the ledger, Along with providing a home for Nick, Mirshojae was paying the mortgage for a property in Irvine where daughter Hanna lives. He also purchased a home in Canoga Park for youngest son Jason and had provided him with an investment account worth more than $1m.
In spite of these expenses Mirshojae claimed, Kelk reopened their divorce agreement to demand he pay monthly adult support for their son in January, leaving the doctor furiously pointing out that his ex-wife and son ‘live a wealthy lifestyle’ that was costing him more than $30,000-a-month, in the face of his ex hiding her own assets by transferring them to her mother.

Yadegar whose social media accounts frequently flaunt his love of bodybuilding, fine dining and expensive accessories, has now moved to Miami.

Back in August 2017, the former couple’s son Nick, who was then 19, claimed a dispute arose over yet another car owned by Mirshojae’s clinic which Kelk attempted to remove from his home.
According to court papers, Kelk allegedly launched a vicious attack on her son that included pulling chunks of his hair out and punching and scratching him.
Kelk With the assistance of her lover Allen Yadegar, then ripped a hole in her son’s pants to get hold of the keys before Yadegar drove off in the vehicle,– but not before allegedly, swiping Nick with the vehicle on his way out.
The teenager further accused his mother of surveilling his Moorpark home, adding that she also stole $400,000 from a trust fund set up in his name.
Public records suggest Allen Yadegar, who can be seen on his social media accounts flaunting his love of bodybuilding, fine dining and pricey accessories, has moved on. He relocated to Miami, Florida, around 2021.
