Lori Vallow Daybell has now been found guilty in the attempted murder of her niece’s ex-husband in 2019.
The ‘doomsday mom’, who is already serving a life sentence for killing two of her children, on Thursday was convicted by an Arizona jury of conspiring to kill Brandon Boudreaux, outside his home in Gilbert, a suburb of Phoenix, Arizona.
Boudreaux at the time was going through a divorce with her niece, Melani Pawlowski.
Vallow Daybell is already imprisoned for life sentence without the possibility of parole, after being sentenced in Idaho in 2023 for murdering her two youngest children, seven-year-old Joshua ‘JJ’ Vallow and 16-year-old Tylee Ryan, as well as conspiring to kill Tammy Daybell, her fifth husband Chad Daybell’s previous wife.
The verdict on Thursday’s June 12, marks her second conviction in two months. In April, another Arizona jury found her guilty of conspiring to kill her estranged husband, Charles Vallow.
In July 2019, Lori’s brother, Alex Cox, shot Charles Vallow at her home in Chandler, another Phoenix suburb and claimed he shot his brother-in-law in self defense.
Cox was not charged before he died of a pulmonary embolism in December 2019.

In October 2019 Vallow’s brother, Alex Cox, shot at the target of the murder plot Brandon Boudreaux, [left], who was once married to Vallow’s niece, Melani Pawlowski, [right]. The court heard that while Cox was the shooter, Vallow was the mastermind
Vallow’s last husband Chad Daybell, was sentenced to death in June 2024Â for killing his ex-wife Tammy as well as Vallow’s two children.
Prosecutors have claimed the purpose of the murders orchestrated by Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell, was so the new couple could run off together to pursue ‘money, power and sex.’
The plot to kill Boudreaux had to do with Vallow’s goal to get rid of anyone who stood in the way of her burgeoning relationship with Daybell.
Vallow and Daybell were Mormons who splintered off from the church because they were becoming increasingly radical. Daybell was the leader of the so called ‘Dooms Day’ Cult.
Boudreaux, the target of the murder plot, testified that his marriage to Vallow’s niece, Melani Pawlowski, broke down because she became heavily involved with Daybell’s cult.

The attempt on Boudreaux happened after Vallow’s children Joshua ‘JJ’, 7, Vallow [left], and Tylee Ryan, 16, disappeared in Sept. 2019. After their remains were found on Chad Daybell’s Idaho property, he was sentenced to death. Vallow was jailed for life, without parole

Prosecutors said Vallow’s plot to kill Boudreaux stems from her toxic relationship with Chad Daybell [photo]. She left her fourth husband for the cult leader. To rid themselves of encumbrances, the pair then murdered her children and his ex-wife, Tammy Daybell. He is on death row
Daybell was self-published author who wrote doomsday-focused fiction and would later promote spiritual beliefs to justify the murders, essentially saying his victims were possessed and marked for death.
Boudreaux explained that his wife Melani Pawlowski aspired to be like aunt Lori Vallow, which led to the two of them attending religious meetings in 2018.
Soon after, Pawlowski was telling her husband that they should be stockpiling food for the end of the world, by July 2019, the two began divorce proceedings and within three months an attempt was made on Boudreaux’s life.

In October 2019, someone in a white Jeep rolled up to Boudreaux’s house and fired a rifle shot that missed him but shattered a window on his car.
By this time, Vallow’s children Joshua and Tylee had been missing for about a month. Boudreaux previously claimed Pawlowski likely knew the location of their bodies. The children’s remains were not found until June 2020, at which point the search had spread nationwide.
The fatal shooting of Charles Vallow a few months earlier had put Boudreaux was on high alert. Boudreaux had consulted him over his crumbling marriage to Pawlowski, just weeks before his assassination.

Prison lifer, Lori Vallow Daybell, [photo], despite her lack of legal qualifications, represented herself at trial and sought to downplay or outright deny all the evidence being presented against her
On the stand, Boudreaux said he immediately suspected Lori Vallow and her brother Alex Cox.
During the trial, the prosecution tendered evidence of cellphone geo-location, receipts and video footage that placed Cox at the scene of the shooting, driving a vehicle later determined to be Vallow’s Jeep.
While Vallow denied all knowledge of her brother’s actions, the prosecutor argued that she gave Cox a fake alibi, arranged for the phone used in the plot and planned out the shooting.
Vallow Daybell, despite not being a lawyer, insisted on representing herself at trial. Her defense strategy was to downplay or outright denial of all evidence tendered by the prosecution, sometimes suggesting outright that prosecutors could have tampered the data.
In her closing argument Vallow Daybell shifted blame onto Boudreaux, claiming he nursed a vendetta against her as he blamed her for his marriage crumbling: ‘Boudreaux decided that I was responsible for his family tragedy, and I’m really sorry he feels that,’ Vallow testified.
The Arizona jury spent just 30 minutes on Thursday before finding Vallow guilty of attempting to murder Boudreaux.
The Arizona convictions each carry a life sentence. Sentencing is set for July 25.Â
