26-year-olf Ariel Spillner, was killed last week in Milwaukee after spending the evening celebrating the birthday of her pal Jamica Simon Mills, 32. The shooting happened around 9.40pm, on November 4.
Mills claims to have accidentally shot Ariel after becoming paranoid that her friend would stab her while they smoked marijuana together, according to the criminal complaint.
Mills who she shot herself in the stomach during the chaotic episode, insists that she did not mean to kill her friend.
In her police interview Mills said Spillner was supposed to cut her dog’s hair with scissors, but she became paranoid that her friend would use them to attack her. She then retrieved a gun from her bedroom.
When she returned Mills said, Spillner made a ‘hand motion’ that panicked her and led her to shoot her.
Responding officers found Mills on the floor inside her home, conscious but with a gunshot wound in the torso. Ariel Spillner was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the medical examiner’s report the bullet struck Spillner, piercing both lungs and her aorta.

After firing shooting her guest, she started walking towards her front door. That is when she accidentally shot herself in the stomach.
