Missing high school football coach Travis Turner was being investigated for child porn and soliciting a minor when he vanished as cops were heading to his home, it was revealed Tuesday.
The 46-year-old married father has been the subject of a missing person’s probe ever since he disappeared when cops headed to his home Appalachia, Va., last Thursday, with officials initially refraining from speaking on the nature of the investigation.
Police finally revealed Tuesday that Turner, the head football coach at Union High School in Big Stone Gap, is wanted for five counts of child pornography and another five of using a computer to solicit a minor.

Ten warrants were issued for his arrest late Monday Nov. 24, cops said.
“Police are actively searching for Turner,” state police said in their Tuesday update, without elaborating on the exact nature of the allegations.
The bizarre saga kicked off when Turner, a father of three, was listed as a missing person on the Virginia State Police database late last week when he disappeared Thursday in the middle of an undefeated season.
The Union Bears, who went 12-0 this season, are set to compete in the regional final the upcoming weekend, with the winner moving on to the state semifinals on December 6.
Cops said they were heading to the coach’s home as part of the “early stages of an investigation” when he vanished.

“This was part of the investigation, and not to arrest him. While in transit, the agents were informed that Turner was no longer at the location,” police said.

“We love him and need him here with us,” she wrote. “Just keep praying that he comes home.”
The mystery surrounding his disappearance only deepened when officials at Wise County Public Schools, which oversees Union High, revealed that an employee within the district had been placed on administrative leave.

Turner and his team were in the middle of an undefeated 12-0 season, headed for the regional play-offs before his disappearance in Virginia’s Appalachian Mountains

“Wise County Public Schools is aware that law enforcement has filed charges against a staff member who has been on administrative leave,” a spokesman said in a statement.
“The individual remains on leave and is not permitted on school property or to have contact with students. The division will continue to cooperate with law enforcement as this process moves forward. Because this is an active legal matter involving personnel, the division cannot comment further.”
Amid the search, police said they have been hunting for the fugitive coach using drones and K-9s. Authorities called on anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward.
